The old ones were not as efficient as the new ones but something about nostalgia to meThose are awesome! We have a catalyst stove with a ceramic cell. The top of our stove just radiates an insane amount of heat!
That is barely below freezing. In Michigan that is usually wet, heavy snow. Great for making snowmen but terrible to move with a snow thrower and even worse with a shovelI could see how you would think that, because I would assume the same…but it’s only -2° right now. So big flakes. However, it has been -9° all week so any moisture content from the ground/lower air is non-existent. It’s a weird thing.
That is generally how it is here too! I was expecting stinking heavy snow. But nope. Light as a feather. That is barely below freezing. In Michigan that is usually wet, heavy snow. Great for making snowmen but terrible to move with a snow thrower and even worse with a shovel
Take it as a blessing. Still at the rate you are getting it, time to get the motorized stuff out. We have lived in Michigan since July of 2011. When we bought the house, I bought an huge 2 stage blower and a small single stage. The 2 stage has been used 4 times in 12 years. The paint is not off the inside of the auger housing. Not complaining but I like the way it launches snowThat is generally how it is here too! I was expecting stinking heavy snow. But nope. Light as a feather.![]()
Be careful shoveling. My bad just twisted up reading shoveling 300 feet of drivewaySuch a blessing. No conplaints as my blower went kaput a few years ago and we decided that shovelling is good for our health. Haha.
We do have a gentleman who blows our driveway with an 8’ blower on a tractor these days. Our driveway is 300’ and we used to hand shovel that! Don’t know what we were thinking. Haha
That is good advice. And our driveway is a bush driveway. Haha. Not a nice city paved/asphalt/concrete driveway.Be careful shoveling. My bad just twisted up reading shoveling 300 feet of driveway
That just made it cringe again. At least with city type driveway it should be a little easier. That is good advice. And our driveway is a bush driveway. Haha. Not a nice city paved/asphalt/concrete driveway.
Oh to have that energy again. Lol
Understand. Almost makes a man want to open the main breaker on the power panel just to keep in practice.Cooking on a wood stove is one of life's little pleasure for me. I don't loose power often these days, but a pot of chilli still tastes better after simmering on the wood stove.
I have to agree. And although I don't do it as often as in the past ... there ain't a better biscuit than those made in a dutch oven over an open fire. There really isn’t any modern-day cooking appliances that can compete with a good woodstove cooktop or a plain old fashioned campfire. Taste-wise.
You’re making me hungry again! Haha.I have to agree. And although I don't do it as often as in the past ... there ain't a better biscuit than those made in a dutch oven over an open fire.
Most definitely. But, I must “argue” that a nice wood campfire creates one of the most savoury flavors to foods.I think the heat is more even from a solid metal stove or campfire. Bottom of the pan/pot is heated evenly.
Was thinking the same thing about being hungry
