After much anticipation, my 0550 came in today and I can't even begin to express my satisfaction with this knife. I am mainly a fan of Spyderco and CRK(other brands really didn't interest me too much) until I came across Zero Tolerance with the 0350 followed by the 0200 and now the 0550. :D I was a little concerned about handle length for my large hands, but this ZT fits my hand just as good as the 0200. I love the framelock on this knife....very nicely overbuilt which gives a very SOLID lockup with ZERO blade play. The S35VN blade came razor sharp and perfectly centered....fit and finish are perfect as well.

The other two ZTs might still see some pocket time, but for now, the 0550 is my favorite...

If there is anyone on the fence about this one, take the leap and buy one!! You won't be disappointed, IMHO. ;)

Awesome glad you like it man! I've got a Strider on the way now Haha. My wallet hates me

Congrats man! Mine came yesterday as well. I think I am going to order a frag scale for it. Anyone else?

I hear ya....I think that I'm going to be good for a while since getting this ZT. Simply awesome knife. My wallet isn't talking to me right now though......congrats on the Strider!

I had been thinking about the Battleship Gray but the Blue has caught my eye now. Even though the frag scale looks cool, I also like the regular Hinderer scale so I might go ahead and just have to get both. :D I might have some luck finding a 0551 at the gun show in a couple of weeks so I will be able to put both scales to good use.

Touched it up on my Sharpmaker and just looking for stuff to cut....:D I hope to get my hands on a 0560 as well.

The 550 is a great design, and that 560 looks awesome as well. I'll get one for sure. Hope they offer one with a black blade.

I purchased an 0551 with Elmax steel recently on BF. love it. What are the differences from the 0550.
A little problem with my 0551. Maybe someone can help. It is almost impossible to open with thumstud. I have to use my thumb and middle finger on the blade to open and then slide my thumb up to the thumstud to finnish.

Thanks

My 0550 arrived over the weekend also. Centered blade and perfect F&F. The detent is a little soft but it is similar to the Hinderer XM-18 that I had. As a matter of fact the feel and action is very similar to the XM-18. Lock-up is solid with not blade movement in any direction. Action is also very smooth, which may be attributed to the light detent. Nice chunky handle provides great grip and ergos. I did touch up the blade but I do that will all my new knives because I can always improve the factory edge.

Thanks guys. Pushing up works. Appreciate your help. I've just started using folding knives. Been using fixed forever. This 0551 is really a substantial knife.

TexasRuby,

The 0550/0551 is just a great design. You've picked a winner to start using folders.

So, what's your next Kershaw/Zt?:D

I bet it will be the 0350 followed by the 0200....or vice versa. I got all three within a couple of weeks but the 0550 is the leader of the pack for me. :D

Congrats on your new ZT, TexasRuby.

Just wondering if anyone else changed to tip down carry? I did just because I kept getting gunk in the very open pivot area. I dont mind either form of carry so its all good :D.

I haven't tried tip down carry, although I preferred that method on my Para 2. I haven't carried the 0550 much due to me being here at home....got injured on the job back in Oct. so I'm still recovering and haven't been back to work yet....but the few times that I've carried it while out and about running errands, I haven't encountered any problems with lint.

Might have to test it out.....you've got me curious about it now. Lol

Haha. It wasnt major issue. And part of it could have been from putting some quick release in the pivot area as well. But I wanted to avoid a gunk build up. I am having a hard time not wanting to pamper this a tad haha. Seeing as its my first titanium framelock and $200 dollar folder.
