The 12 is now 11

I understand. But I think the Seahawks got a good haul. There should be some good QB prospects coming out in 2023. I'd make trades to move all those picks into 2023 and then try to cash them in on Wilson's replacement.

And, hey - you still have the Mariners! 😂

Interesting.

Wilson to Denver for 2 1st rd picks (2022-23), 2 2nd rd picks (2022-23) and a 5th rd pick (2022) plus Drew Lock (Denver's default QB) and Shelby Harris (a very good DL).

Complicated deal. Very costly for Denver. Reminds me of the movie - Draft Day. Don't think Hawk fans will be very happy w/Lock as their new QB. Assume 1 of the 1st rd picks will go in that direction.

How good are Denver's O-line and receivers? Is Denver a real threat to KC now?

And then Aaron Rodgers reportedly gets a $200M 4yr extension. Hmmm . . . ????

Still wondering if the 9ers can get "anything" for Garappolo and if Trey Lance will be the 2nd coming of Patrick Mahomes. We'll see . . .

LOL! ;)

9ers should definitely get something for Handsome Jimmy if they're ready to part company. And no, Trey Lance is not another Mahomes.

I agree on both counts.

The way Jimmy spoke during following the playoff loss, it didn't sound like he thought he'd still be Niners next season. He's good enough to find a spot somewhere. The question is how much other teams are willing to pay for him, given his obviously limitations -- like repeatedly thowing into coverage.

The Niners certainly "thought" that Trey could be the next Mahomes but it is certainly a VERY long shot.

The kid has only had a few games/plays to "prove" what he can do and the results have been less than stellar so far. Time will tell, assuming his is the starting QB next season and he doesn't have to look over his shoulder or stand on the sidelines any more.

We'll see . . .

If I was running the Saints, or Panthers, or Texans, or Redsk - er, uh - Commanders 😂 , I would give up a second rounder for Jimmy G. No way on a first, but yeah, a second - and maybe a future 6th or 7th. MUCH better than their other options - and I don't like any of the QBs in this year's draft. Frankly, IMO he's better than a lot of other QBs, too - Lions, Giants, Colts, Iggles, Bucs, Steelers, etc. (leaving out the 2nd and 3rd year guys like Zach Wilson, Tua and Hurts), but for various reasons I think those teams will stand pat. Would be an improvement for the Seahawks, too, but I doubt they would trade him within the division.

Rumor is that the Colts are interested in Jimmy after reportedly trading Carson Wentz to Washington but not sure if that's the "best" place for Jimmy where they have also reportedly run thru 5 QBs in 5 years.

Except for Rodgers, it looks like musical chairs for QBs this year. LOL! ;)

TE Noah Fant, 2019 Round 1 pick, #20 overall went to Seattle too.

How good are Denver's O-line ?
Denvers O line was rated #19/32 overall by ProFootball focus for 2021. The O line could use some help. Probably the priority for the draft and in FA signings.

How good are Denver's receivers ?
Denvers top 4 WR is a very good group. Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick and K.J. Hamler. They could use another TE now after losing Fant.

Denver still has 26.2M in cap space even after the trade to address issues.

Considering KC and Mahomes have been on a slight decline, Denver can jump into the mix with some O line help. KC is over the cap by about 5.5M too atm.

As a lifelong resident of MI, please say a short prayer for my Lions. We are rebuilding.... again.

Yeah, I just saw this. The . . . Commanders 😂 acquired Wentz for a package of draft picks. The Colts will receive the Commanders' third-round picks in 2022 and 2023. The 2023 third-rounder can become a second-round selection if Wentz plays 70% of Washington's snaps (barring injury, that seems a lock). The teams also swapped second-round picks in 2022, with the Colts moving up from No. 47 overall to No. 42.

Wow. Horrible trade for Washington, IMO. They've been specializing in horrible trades for 30 years. Do. Not. Want. Wentz. Period. Given this trade, maybe the Niners could get a 1st rounder from Indy or someone else for Handsome Jimmy after all, as he is MUCH better than Wentz, IMO. If Colts could acquire him, I would make them favorite in the AFC South next year. I think Wentz was really the major thing holding them back.

If Wilson doesn't win a Super Bowl for the Donkeys, this is going to be a huge FAIL! He's coming off a season where he missed three games due to injury, and he's 33 years old. He'll turn 34 at midseason.

I could be wrong, but it seems unlikely to me that this has the desired outcome for Denver. The outcome for Seattle will depend on what they do with those draft picks and the two very good players they got.

Fant, TE, age 24, had 68 catches for 670 yards last season, with 4 TDs.
Harris, DL, age 30, 41 tackles and 7 sacks last season.

Drew Lock is basically a bonus - a decent backup QB. If Seattle relies on him as their starting QB, it won't be pretty. It will be interesting to see who their starting QB is - and how long he lasts.

Those are two very good players, and Fant is only 24!

Hard for me to see Denver winning this trade. It all comes down to this: does Denver get at least one Super Bowl win with Wilson? If they get two or more, then it's a big win for them. No Super Bowl wins with Wilson = FAIL!

Wow. Horrible trade for Washington, IMO. They've been specializing in horrible trades for 30 years. Do. Not. Want. Wentz. Period.

I agree! I wouldn't want Wentz as my quarterback, period out! He's not a terrible QB, but not a good one, and a QB needs to be a leader and a positive in locker room. Wentz is a mouthy malcontent who is not a leader, but instead is a dark cloud in the locker room.

NFL offseason has been really wacky this year.

Texans QB Deshaun Watson + 4th rd pick to Cleveland for: THREE 1st round picks + 3rd rd + 4th rd. And Watson gets 230M guaranteed (supposedly). Oof.

I can't believe Watson got traded with all those pending civil complaints and no word on what the NFL will do with him. He could get suspended. Although, he might just settle with all that $ incoming. Yes, I know he avoid criminal charges but still ...

I can understand why Texas didn't want Mayfield back in the trade. He is due big $ upcoming soon. Texans in rebuild mode, grab a rookie QB this year or next (really good QB class btw) and get 4-5 years of the rookie QB contract.

Curious where Mayfield lands now.

With Watson going to the Browns who will get Baker? Indy? I guess Willis will get drafted by Seattle……

Let's see, Baker and Jimmy G need a new home for sure. Both are in the last year of their contracts so any team trading for them would want a contract extension of some sort.
QB Winston is still a FA.

HC McDaniels supposedly likes QB Carr and HC Daboll is going with QB Jones for one more year. I would guess GB keeps QB Love as the backup since he is fairly cheap (under 4M a year).

Who needs a QB? Indy, NO, Sea, and Car?

QB Ryan has a terrible contract in Atl. He is hard to move.

I'm guessing Sea goes with QB Winston for 2 years and drafts a QB. Winston is a temp place holder until the rookie is ready.

I would guess Indy is playing Cle against SF to get down the price of Baker and Jimmy G. Not sure which one they prefer.

EDIT: As a Lions fan, I would gladly offer QB Goff for a 4 pack of Guinness. Just take on his crappy contract.
He will be cut next summer. Dead $ of 5M and cap savings of 25M then.

The 12s need Gardner Minshew to show up on their doorstep.

Loudest crowd full of fake moustaches you will ever see.

Go Hawks!

I think you meant Daboll is going with QB Jones.

Obviously more shoes have dropped since your post.

I think half the teams in the league actually need a better QB to have any chance of ever making it to the SB, but only a few of them are in a position to admit it. Probably only Seattle, Detroit, Houston, Atlanta, Carolina, New York Giants, and Pittsburgh are in a position where they might be willing to admit it and seek someone new. Washington, Philly, Miami, Indy, and Tennessee need a new QB, and will chase one soon, but they are too invested in the present QB at this time to start trying to find another.

Cleveland will have to do something with Mayfield. So, being in a bad spot . . . other teams will take advantage and offer them a ham sandwich at best. If SF is really going with Lance, then they **should** move Handsome Jimmy. Maybe not as desperate as Cleveland, though.

If I was one of these QB-needy teams, I would see if I could finagle a good deal for Garoppolo. He's not a bum. He's been to two NFC Championships and one SB. IF, IF, IF you can protect him and he can stay healthy, he is a 10-15 ranked QB, IMO.

IMO, the draft class is weak at QB. Not confident that any of these dudes will ever be any better than Jimmy G - although they would be cheaper for 3-4 years. Maybe better to trade this year's first and second picks for additional picks next year and then use all that draft capital to try to get one of the better QB prospects who will likely be coming out in 2023.

Talk is that w/all of the potential trade optons drying up, the 9ers may keep JimmyG to help further "groom" Trey to become the starting QB which, as yet, he hasn't proven that he has the skills to be.

There's no doubt, in my mind, that despite his weaknesses, JimmyG easily can be be a starting QB somewhere in the NFL but the 9er's have apparently overplayed their cards and may be stuck eating the $27M (or so) remaining on his contract and then get nothing at all for him when he becomes a full free agent at the end of next year.

Oh well . . . pretty typical of 49er football $27M for 1 yr is a lot of $ to pay for a trainer. LOL! :)
