This is the quintessential Scat thread. If you have a picture of scat (animal only please! No human ratemypoo.com entries please!) post it here. Post it, identify it, comment about it, this is your thread. I'll start us off with this gem.

Found at 3 pm in southern CT. Not frozen in the center of a trail under a canopy of Mountain Laurel. Koster Bushcraft for size reference. Note the hair towards the end of the scat.

Any guesses? This shouldn't take long for someone to get this one.

Kevin,

That's one of mine after eating rabbit for dinner, sorry. Never eat porcupine. Mac

Southern Cross- The wallaby scat looks very similar to that of a horse. How does it compare in size to horse scat?

I think this is from a possum (opossum), …but I’m not 100% sure.

G'day David

Wallaby scat is much smaller and typically is no bigger than approx 1 1/2 inch by 1 inch.

Kind regards

What I was referring to was the age of the scat, although the size of the individual pellets do indicate an adult rabbit.

Sorry about not labeling the pic more clearly.

Kind regards
Mick
I knew really, I was just pulling your leg :)

Ahem. I take my dumps in private :D

Still, that's lookin like coyote. It's the single most common scat to find pretty much everywhere in the US that I've lived.
