The $200 purchase dilema

you should check out the brand-new BENCHMADE ONSLAUGHT. big, heavy duty folder with a spydie hole and awesome blade...sick knife.

Well, a thank you goes out to everyone for their input. I though long and hard about his and the one knife I noticed I kept coming back to was the Spyderco Military Ti framelock. So I pre-ordered one Friday. Now it's a waiting game.

I know eventually I will get a Mayo TNT. And hopefully will be able to find a Ruckus and an Alias I from the Exchange. I'll keep looking for a Benchmade 42 as well. The rest I feel that I can pass on and still be OK about not having them. I'm trying to keep all my purchases to keepers and users only from now on. I sold off a bunch of knives already that I either don't use or don't want.

Anyways, I feel good about my decision. The Ti Mili can not get here soon enough!!! :D Anyone have any insider info on when they will ship?

For practical/availability reasons as well as quality I'd get the SG2 Ti/JYD 2 first choice, then the RIL (framelock) Ti Millie second choice.

They are all good choices you picked but these two IMO will be the most desirable and costly in the long run. The SG2 JYD's already can be difficult to find.

If you haven't experienced one in person yet My guess is that you would be amazed by not only the factory edge, but the ease of putting a really sharp edge on the steel due to the geometry, hardness ( at RC 62 it really is crisp and doesn't burr much), purity and grain structure of the steel. Think BG42 done with a powder process. ( others may disagree, but that's my best comparison)

The Millie is good in any variant. Some are more desired by enthusiasts than others. The Ti version looks to be one.

Mayo is quality, and smooth. They are easy to find

Rukus is a beast. Despite their Disco there are still plenty around. That should tell you something. They will be easy(ier) to find for a while.

The ZT 0200 and CF native 4 are good, competent knives. The 0200 is a great deal and I'm glad I have one, but my choice is still the same as above. The 0200's will be available later, and plenty of excellent, nearly unused ones come around for sale.

Balisong? Just not my thing. No offense meant.

Good choice on the RIL Millie BTW. It won't let you down as long as you don't try to make it into a screwdriver or prybar. I can't recommend enough grabbing an SG2 JYD 2, or Blur model if you get the choice. Good luck.

Wow, very well thought out!

In the course of my indecision, I let a new JYDII SG2 w/ STR clip get away in the Exchange :(. This was the one I wanted as much as the Ti Mili So I guess the decision was made for me :p. The stock clip JYDII SG2 was not quite as appealing but I could've .always got the clip separate but call me lazy :o.

Oh, and I picked up a Bradley Kimura II to tide me over until I can find a BM 42. :D

Well, good luck and enjoy the knives. I think you bought an excellent knife that will give you good service for a long, long time.

If you think about it let us know how you like them both after you've had and used them for a while. Joe/Raleigh
