The 2020 Blade Forums knife is happening!

Good job on posting the two photos! Thanks. I like both knives and glad I'm going to own them. I respect the fact that everyone has different likes and dislikes.
Its cool and I'm sure it will be a hit. I almost ordered one but on the website it said if you didn't speak up in the forums don't purchase the knife.

I probably would of spoke up but didn't realize there was a forum knife in the works until after it went live, appeared to be too late so I didn't order. Not sure why the post here in the Buck forums if it was too late to order one.

I have a Viper swayback in stag and I really like it just my personal preference would have been a GEC non stainless (I love a wharncliffe blade and a 47 Viper would have been sweet if GEV could have done a knife) ... as I get older I am finding my way back to more traditional styles ... but with this year being what is has I'm just happy that Mike stepped up to make a forum knife happen. Glad to get a couple.

Mike since as said if you want one feel free to order because as usual some didn't purchase after saying they were in. I think there were at least a handful left yesterday.

Il mull it over a bit. I didnt want to step on someone's toes who may of spoke up for one.

Ok, ordered one. I'm a sucker for special runs.
Great, I'll be waiting for your review...
My first forum knife was the 2018 BF 301. Over the years, I've had many different knives, but, was so caught up in Buck produced products I really didn't pay much addition to the others on this forum. I was drawn in by the process of polls and the banter that went on during it. Glad that the Buck 301 was chosen and the selection of features, 2 blades, CPM 154 steel, elk covers, and full flat grind. Participated in the 2019 selection process and bought that one.
Here's the 301...

I love the 301. Not just because it’s Buck. Also because it’s unique to the “typical” annual BF knives. In my opinion it stands out mostly because it’s noticeably different

So, picture cutting a really thick piece of rope. Bend the rope in half. After a few passes trying to push the blade through the loop, it's only natural to turn the knife and make a pass pulling it up. I think that's where the backward handle and straight edge blade will come into play. I pushed hard for a Buck 501 but when Stephen at SK indicated Buck would not be able to fulfill an order this year I knew that dream was dead. This will be a nice BF knife. The company makes really nice stuff. Not my favorite pattern either but Mike at CK stepped up and it's a thankless job. I will support that and having a 2020 forum knife.

I have one of the Viper Swaybacks in Grey Oak from the regular run. It's an exceptional knife and very well made. Quality is higher than the price might imply. I don't feel right posting a picture of it in the Buck forum.

The Buck 301 Bladeforum knife will probably always be my favorite forum knife. Not only is it an exceptional knife as well but it was so much fun putting it together with all the polls, discussion, and help from Stephen at SK. The way it all came together gradually over a few months of discussion and the end result make it a very special knife and one that I doubt we will ever top.

I'm not getting a 2020 forum knife because I already have a Viper Swayback but I think that anyone that gets one will be very pleased with it.

I agree.
BTW and FYI, the orders have been halted and there is a stand by list created. You can find it in the stickies of the Traditional forum.

I passed on this year's knife as it just didn't seem to fit in with the last ten year's BF models, and it just seemed to be a run-of-the-mill pattern that has been somewhat overdone of late. The ram horn is also a consideration, as you just don't know what you'll get. I've never handled the model/brand knife so I can't say as to quality, probably good, but the screws seem a little funky to me and I prefer traditionally finished folders in this style. JMHDAO

I’ll agree, it seems like a similar style and configuration is what has been rolled out for the forum knife the last few years (yawn).
With the exception of the 2018 Buck 301 which is a favorite of mine. I missed the original release because I didn’t have enough posts but I got one from the exchange for a decent price. It has very nice elk sides . A week later another one was on the exchange and I nabbed it up for an even better price. It was as close in looks to the first it’s like a matching set.

I’d like to see a medium/large sized jack knife around 4 inch with cpm 154 3 inch main blade and a pen secondary, nice jigged bone and NS bolsters.
