The $54,000 wound -- not by a khuk

Dang Bill, I totaly missed this thread. I am sorry for that. Smoke continues for you from the Roy household, of course, but I wish I had shown more sympathy sooner. Anyway, I am thinking of you much lately, and I'm glad to hear you're going to Blade Show. I'm going to bring my bayonet for you to see. Can't wait. Hope soon you are fit as a fiddle, better than ever, knocking em dead (zombies I mean).

30 minutes and $28K? I don't know, something is seriously skewed there. Not like you had a choice though...

And he does about 5 of these a day, two days a week. Looked up his salary and he gets between $350k and $400k a year. But after taxes, what does that figure?

Hate to think what his malpractice insurance must cost. Probably everybody wants to sue the rich surgeon.

Still very happy I have Kaiser insurance. This has cost me personally a $25 co-pay, total!

The bill for the complete operation is now at $54,000! They keep sending me these bills that are marked "Paid." The first one 'bout gave me a heart attack until I got to the "Paid by carrier," part!

Maybe I should have gone into bone cutting instead of used houses?

How'd I miss this thread:confused: Congrats on a fresh start, Bill. I'll probably be in your shoes one day. Two uncles with extensive knee work and a father that needs it...but chooses to use duct tape instead:rolleyes: Take it easy. I have an injury or two that I didn't take things slow and I'm paying for them today.

Past injuries can home to roost. Remember when we though we were invincible? Immortal? Part of my problem was racing motorcycles and having a few crashes. Bad on the knees.

This is sure no fun, but I see much brighter days ahead. Everyday is better.

I snapped both my ankles when I was a kid:eek: , I took a Suzuki 150 2 stroke street bike with solid foot pegs off a jump both my feet slipped forward off the pegs and when I hit the ground the pegs snapped my ankles from behind:eek:  , to this day I can bend my ankles in at a 90 degree angle, every time my orthopedic surgeon sees this he cringes:barf: , guess they'll come back to haunt me soon enough.:D
