Everybody does.......I guess.

:)

Quite a knife.......and I think it could end up being a rare variation on the 124.

Dam!, that's nice. Where does one get one of these? Couldn't even find on their site. What'd you pay?

This thread https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/buck-640xl.1541289/ has a little more info on it.

What you pay, I think, depends on if you're a member of the Buck Collector's Club.

I'll see if I can round up his e-mail and PM it to you so you can ask him.

I'm guessing plenty $$$, since that has class written all over it. How does one join the Buck collectors club, can I sign up on the site or have to get in touch with Larry Oden? Or something else?

got mine as well. at first i thought it was smaller than a 124 in blade length....then i compared them its about the same. just looks smaller to me for some reason. great knife. now have to decide to use it or just keep it in the collection???:)

Yeah, if I had my druthers I'd want a blade length about 7 and a half, like the 120, but that's not all that important.

Mine will be a display knife.

What serial number did you get? I was hoping for a little lower number.

have to look when i get home tonight. didnt pay attention to that was just looking at fit and finish more than anything else. it was quite nice fit and finish wise. ill post a pic or two tonight of it here.

I wish the COA included the info that the steel is 440C. I know 440C is lightly stenciled on the knife (cheap stencils, another pet peeve of mine) but it would be nice to have it on the COA as well. Nice looking COA otherwise.

is it a laser engraving/etching? did buck ever state what that stenciling actually is on the forum and i missed it? thanks.

Good question. I don't know how they do it, I just know the result looks cheap. The BOS and 440C and Limited Edition look like an ink stamp and the 34 of 259 looks like it was scratched in with a sharp object.

Hoyt Buck would roll over in his grave if he knew about this.

Probably shouldn't speak for Hoyt Buck. For all we know he would of encouraged it. Who knows for sure. Doesn't look cheap, I think there was a post on a 60s Buck 110 that had etching on it. Ill have to look it up. Its obvious you dont care for it since you have posted god knows how many times you dont like it. Doesnt mean everyone else doesnt like it.

Normally with a knife of this considerable excellence in design and execution.......I would have purchased two or even three.

So.......well, we're stuck with it, so........that's that.
