The 80's!! Anyone remember knives from the 80's??

Ah , the 80’s. I got my first knife in 1985 (SAK). Then I got a Buck 110 in 1988.

I still have SAK’s in my collection now and I’m sure I always will. I don’t have a Buck 110 anymore but I’ve been thinking about getting a new one since it’s such an iconic knife.

I was a teen through first half of 1980s on the East Coast.
My source of knife knowledge was from kids in my troop, the glass box displays at SEARS, gunstores, and magazines like Boy's Life (was a scout), field & stream, natgeo.
Buck knives were rare to find in southeast stores. Schrade & Case knives were plentiful. swiss army knives appeared in late 1980s.
My first real knife was a Schrade old timer. AFter pining for it from ads, I finally got me an Uncle Henry BearClaw, a Buck 110 type of knife. My prize knives were Case knives which seemed much better quality than the rest. I got me a Case trapper and used it to abuse, eventually destroying the blade trying to sharpen it on a crappy stone.
I got this case knife but was never brave enough to use it - has been one of my prizes for nearly 40 years.
