Allowing the flex and whip of a curved handle for felling on the double bits of choice for the day. A sharp felling bit and the more blunt opposing bit for the rough and clearing work.

Yup, Adirondack axes are pretty neat. I have two with original and correct adirondack style handles. A 3lb on a 28" handle and a 3.5 lb. on a 31" handle.
