I got this from Swept Edge yesterday. Case Rancher 6375 CV.... The Large Stockman.... pictured with some future victims.

This knife is a hoss, but I'm really liking it. Edges are sharp, cut through some peaches with it earlier. Trimmed right through some spots that were a little too ripe. The clip is surprisingly controllable considering it's size. I liked the knife so much, I bought a reddish colored CV last night. Once it gets in, I hope to use it while I ask Case to correct some blade rub on this one. Still, it feels good in the hand. Big and beefy, but still controllable. This will be a great companion during deer season. I'm really digging it.

I got your anti-peanut right here.

Woodrow, I don't have the Case, but I do like a large stockman. This Moore Maker is 4-3/8" of smooth bone and 1095 goodness.

I like that Moore Maker. Nice bone and rounded corners making things a little easier on the pockets. I'd like that with some corn cobb jigging.

Got my Case medium stockman in my pocket right now :)

What's the size on the clip on that 6375 Woodrow, nice knife?

Ive got the same one, great knife and probably one of my favorites. The sawcut jigging you have on yours looks awesome. Mines got more of a vertical cut than horizontal. They just look rugged, have lots of heft plus you can never go wrong with the CV steel. Thats a looker.

Got the Amber Bone cv version. Carry it mainly in winter when wearing an outdoor coat, at 4.25" closed this is serious Traditional and I find I need a sturdy pocket for it. It's a really fine knife: good bone with deep jigging, moderate pull on all blades, no play and no gaps. I actually like the combo of cv blades and stainless backspring.

Be nice to find a Bonestag 6.5 version of one of these, that can be really interesting as a handle material.

I really love Case's saw cut scales like. Makes for a great looking knife

Hope they can sort out those little niggles for you.

Aw, Woodrow-- I thought this was going to be about your Lady Leg.

Although, come to think of it, that one's more comprehensively anti-matter.

:p That knife doesn't get much use from me. It's definitely a novelty. I'd like to think the GEC version works a bit better at opening bottles. SAKs do well. I'm waiting on a M. Morris and hoping it does well with the long necks.

It's hard to appreciate just how big the Case 6375 is, so here's a comparison shot:

The Peanut is the first brand new Case knife I ever bought. Case knives were rather difficult to find in the Pacific NW in those days and I had to travel 20 miles into Seattle to find any; I'm not sure why, but nobody seemed to carry the brand.

The very first Case I ever bought was in a box of used trapping stuff I was looking through to buy. In one of the boxes were two mint Case 1970's bone muskrats (this was in the late 80's). I asked the guy how much, he said "ten bucks each" so I bought one. (Stupid, stupid, stupid) Then instead of putting it up, I used it some and gave it to one of my sons. He found it years later in the bottom of a bucket and gave it back... rusted beyond repair. Rats.
