The anti-peanut.... Case 6375

LOL yeah its pretty ridiculous, my dad has had it for years, not exactly sure what its purpose is other than to pull it out for laughs now and then, maybe it's supposed to be a store display or something?

I love the big display knives and can't wait until I find one of my own.

That IS a beauty, Woodrow!

Nice lookin' brass, too . . . 45 Colt?

Thanks. I really was wanting some reddish bone Case.

45 Colt Starline brass going to get a 265 grain Keith type bullet. I've been using 9.5 grains of Unique for a consistent 950 fps. I'm going to look into trying some HS-6 or Winchester 231 to see if accuracy gets a little better.

Right now, I'm shooting it with a S&W 25-13, but have gotten the itch for a Ruger Blackhawk Bisley.

Here is the Smith.

That Case knife is a perfect companion to that S&W. A prelock Mountain Gun is on my gotta get list.

Nice Case red bone and S&W Woodrow! But wouldn't a single action suit your persona a little better? :)

I scored on this mint 1978 Case 6292 with brown bone covers and NS liners recently, but I'm not having much luck finding loading components. Powder choice? Whatever I can get my hands on. I managed to squeeze 2 lbs. of Herco out of a local sports place, but I've been looking for Unique and can't get it. Pickin's is slim, I tell ya! Same with shotgun shells (don't reload 'em); nothin' on the shelves unless you're lucky! Good thing I stocked up on lead and primers. Now I have to work up a new CAS load (under 1000 fps) for my 1894 Marlin Cowboy, dangit!

I sold my SA 45 colts a couple years ago. A motorcycle accident doing 60 mph did wonders to my knuckles. SA sixguns
Pounded my knuckles. I've been sitting on a lb of Unique since. Too bad you weren't local I would give it to you.
Nice case too

Thanks. I'm looking forward to seeing a patina develop on it. Will probably use it to clean some game this season.

As far as a single action..... yeah. I actually had the Mountain Gun up for sale in order to pay for a Bisley, but nobody wanted to pay what it was worth to me. I hope to buy one next year. I'd like to send it to John Linebaugh to work over. Right now that is just a dream. Got some more important bills and wants up coming.

Lifetime hunting license for Mississippi! :)
It's not cheap for me, but out of state licenses are killing me. :o

Its a shame we can't ship powder. I might could find you some Unique.

One of my fav sixguns is this old thing:

But I digress.... This might be the true 'anti-peanut'!

Please remember where you are posting: A Knife forum.
Please stay focused on the knives.

Nobody??? Guess I'll hav'ta show mine again...

Unless you've handled this model, it's difficult to imagine just how big it is at 4 5/16 inches closed and a hefty 3.7 ounces. :)

I'm going to have to break down and buy an older case like that. Know what year? The Tang Stamps for 65-69 look the same as a no dot 70-79 to me.

It's a 65-69 model; the tang stamp on the '70's model starts with ten dots under the same tang stamp as the 65-69, then nine dots in 1971, 8 in '72 etc. until 1980 when they went to the 'lighting S' stamp and the same date dots. I feel the Case knives made before 1980 are the ones to look for.

Good to know.
