Ok, so the collapse of civilization as we know it happens, Zombie, EMP, Peak Oil etc...whatever it is, it happens! For unknown reasons, you can only choose one knife to take with you! What knife are you choosing?

Please include blade length and steel type and any other features you would like to include. Please include a picture!!! And choose only ONE!!!

My choice as well documented in this thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1086788-My-Survival-Camp-Combat-Knife

Melba Toast
11" Blade
5160 Carbon Steel

I always have 2 on me to begin with and the rest are in easy reach, but my becker's my KA-BAR Tanto and my 'hawk followed very closely by my Kalashnikov.

Sirupati kukri.

I believe 15" blade and steel is leaf spring from a bobtail truck ive heard.

anyways after some reprofiling it is sharp where it needs and durable where it needs. I feel safe swinging this after much practice, its known to behead wildebeests in 1 swing.

It's hard to choose just one because I never leave the house with just one.

1. Left handed Spyderco Military will always be on me, no matter what.
2. Leatherman Charge Ti will always be on me, no matter what.
3. Right hand front pocket, whatever I choose to have on me that day, it's flexible. Knowing the apocalypse is coming, I would probably opt to have my newly purchased Cold Steel Espada XL in my right front. Folding pocket sword FTMFW.

Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri. Nothing else will suffice for me. I do hope I can carry a good folder or something that isn't mucked up with biohazard zombie guts for utility tasks.

12" blade
Carbon V steel

The San Mai III version (which I will not be buying, because Carbon V) made a world record rope cut on video.

If it is the 2nd Coming, I'm not all that concerned about what knife I'm carrying.

As for any other bad situation, probably an ESSE Junglas and a mora.

I have the Cold Steel SRK with a 6" blade, 1/4" spine, Carbon V Steel, Leather Sheath. This knife will shave ya if ya sharpen it right. I keep this knife sharpened at a 29 degree angle and it is the toufhest knife I have. I feel safer with this knife than I do with my Air Force Survival Kabar. This knife is 11 3/4" long and I've got a short lanyard already installed.
This is my choice for Cold Steel makes a fantastic product.

I've got an old Frosts Lapplander 95. It's a pretty fancy knife, but it's full tang, with a good blade profile. Scandi grind means I should be able to sharpen it fine, and the blade is pretty thick. I'm sure it'll do whatever I need it to, from gutting a rabbit to braining a zombie.
