The AR-15 for my wife and my M-16 (yes, it's full-auto) just in case the bad guys line up civil war style. My BK7 since this is knife forum, but truthfully, I would rather have as many guns as I could carry.

If the Apocalypse happens I really doubt it will matter much what knives people have.....

I am not bugging anywhere. The choice depends on where your bugging. But if I had to just grab some knives today, I would probably grab a Blackjack Classic 1-7 or 125, my regular fixed blade EDC (small Dozier K42), and a SAK. It is a very situational call as there would be other people (family) carrying my knives as well.

42blades,

When is that Baryonyx out?

How heavy is it?

Very soon. Just finalizing the blade stamp (of the Baryonyx skull) and then the order for the first run can be officially placed. I'm guessing a couple of months.

Weight of the production version will be 1lb, 10.2oz on its own, or 2.34lbs including the sheath.

Id take 2.

First id take this KDSH

because i might need to do something like this;

Then id take my RMD for most knife specific tasks. Because its like the best fixed blade EVER :) And can chop way outside what its size suggest!

Tough choice.

I have battle axes, hawks, a sword, and Infi.

KZII might be in the kit, depending on how far I have to hoof it.

I don't have a "bug out" plan per se. If I need to, it's over to the folk's place a few miles away. The only thing they don't have is Air Filtration.

Food supply, Water supply, Water filters (gravity fed), Generator, fuel, etc. Fire wood, reloading equipment, etc, etc, etc.

I would be tough pressed to leave this axe at home. Hammer poll, and long cutting edge with two sharp points. Mounted on a pick handle, it is easy to swing, and throw. And not too cumbersome to carry. I have it on a 6+ foot pole right now, but it can be cut down fast.

I normally keep it mounted on pick handles. The hammer will punch out door handles, windows, even cinderblock walls if necessary.

But really, if we are facing Zombies, you need the physique to handle your edged weapons.................

I would imagine that the correct physique for that would be to have lean muscle, speed and endurance not bulky muscle and quick bursts of extreme power. But yeah keeping yourself fit is one of the best investments you can make in terms of your personal survival.

probably whichever reasonable sized pocket knife I have on me at the time.

Just because civilization ends doesn't mean i'm going to spend all my free time hacking through cars, felling trees, or attacking people... I'm probably going to continue to do reasonable things, and unless I just happened to be in the rainforest when it happened I probably don't need a large hacking machine...

I'd want my Stihl 261 in the event of most disasters. Every typhoon, earthquake, hurricane, tornado I've been around has involved trees that need to be chopped up and there isn't a Busse, ESEE, or Strider made that will come anywhere close to keeping pace with a well-oiled Stihl.

Stihls are excellent, but when you run out of fuel for it, it becomes a very large paperweight. In a real disaster fuel will be one of the things gone first too.
