The ASH1 "Family"...

I am in thanks for the chance to win one!

:D Great collection! I love the look of the ASH-1. Hopefully one day I will get my hands on one.

We at least one of those ASH1s has spent the last seven somewhat eventful days on the road with me... :)

Andy,

Thanks for the photo; that's a nice group of ASH1's! Do you have a favorite one, for use and then also just for looks? The one with the white handle is pretty cool, very unusual.

I did not think I would like a fat (.32") one at first, but I was surprised how good it felt in my hand. The difference between the fat and skinny ones is pretty significant, almost like 2 different tools for different jobs (even though they are the same basic model).

If there could be ONLY one (I feel sick at the thought) it would be the desert sand version there at .22 thick.

Andy, (or any one else with this info), from whence came the White One? And, (without checking with the Custom Shop), is this the only one that's ever been made in White & White (G10)?

And is it still down under?

Thanks...;-)

I don't think it's white. Blade looks to be coated with what looks like albino ;) version of Bama Clay coating and handle tan G10.

Andy will be back from holidays next week, so he can tell you exactly.
As to origins of it, must have been from one of the shows a good few years ago.

That finish was a special military finish called "desert sand" - here are some threads on it:

It's a cool looking knife!

Thanks for the answers on the "Sandash." And I want to locate one o' those....;-)

Sweet sweet sweet! I love the ASH. I think the ASH and TGLB are my two favorite busse blades.

....yup! But then there's the SOB....and the NMFBM, oh yeah!and theAMSandtheAK47.....:D

.....................and then there's the Rats and the Dogs......or, should I go there?;)

After random collecting of B's for the last eighteen months, I am pretty much collecting ASH1's, and DSF's...;-)

Most has been answered for me during my time in the land of Hobbits and Orcs ;)

Yes, getting the exposure right on that old pic was tough and as a result the Sand Finish wased out and came looking white. It is a very nice blade and yes, it most certainly does reside down here. It is also on of the very few blades I own that has had numerous offers made via PM to re-home.

NOOOO too many favorites lol.

I've actually never held a SOB or an AK. Had the other two.

I like the ratmandu a LOT, I have multiples of that one.

Thanks Andy. You provide an inspiration to all ASH1 collectors...;-)

You are correct, Mr. Tuica. Now if we just knew what Andy really looks like...Cheers.
