The "Ask Jo (NinJO) Thread"

Hi. It may just be me but I’m having trouble signing up for the newsletter. In the birthday field I can’t switch from the month to the day. And, it won’t let me sign up without filling it in. On an unrelated note, are there any DEK1 burlap scales available?

I signed you up Mike. I don't know why it was giving you trouble. Yes, we do have DEK1 burlap scales available. Please send me an email or PM if you would like me to send you an invoice. Thank you!
Jo

Hello Jo the Machinist Jo the Machinist , hope you are all good. Before posting in WTB section I want to ask you first, are there any chances of you having any extra Gray TeroTuf scales for EDC2? And 1 set of Titanium or SS screws for it.
I asked the same question of Jo a few months ago. At that time at least there were none and I was also looking for a set for a HDFK, no joy on either. I'd imagine the WTB is your best bet unless another run is ever done.
Apologies just seen Jo's response now.

Hi Jo,

How are things going with Abby on the college/university front? Has she decided on school yet for the fall?

Edit: (See below)...
Yes, "no problemo" with regards to maintaining privacy for the Carothers' family and Abby. ;)

I think she is going to local a year or 2 before University. She's not quite ready to go off on her own.

My daughter is a high school senior this year so we've been doing the whole college/university exploration scenario (again) which was what made me think of Abby.

The admissions process is very competitive these days! My daughter had quite a few rejections as well as some "wait-lists" but she was accepted at our big state university.

So it's looking like she will be going off next fall to join her brother who is also currently enrolled there as a freshman.

She has "Prom" this weekend and then only about 1-1/2 months more to go before graduation.

Smart. Also saves money. My son is considering that (and he is still a couple years away), as the main engineering school he wants to go to is EXPENSIVE!
Yup. Just make sure that all the credits will transfer to their final college of choice (different schools have different criteria, and I knew a couple of folks who were dismayed to find that not everything transferred over, with some schools).

Absolutely, 100%. 👍 In my son's case, they will for sure (both schools here, and they work together a LOT).

In my case (back in the 90's of course), I had, IN WRITING, what the engineering school (Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University) said they would accept as a transfer from my local, MUCH cheaper college prior to my taking of those classes. When it came time to do the transfer (within the allotted time), they refused more than half of what they said they'd accept. 🤨 🤬

NOPE, I don't think so! :poop: Long story short (almost went to court), thank God I had that letter, it saved me tens of thousands of dollars and more than a year of my time!!! One class didn't transfer due to some accreditations issue, but Riddle let me re-take it there for free (and I tested out of it anyway).
