The "Ask Nathan a Question" Thread

Morning Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist - we know about your CRK and Shiro. Now, you make some of the best fixed blades in the world, why don't you carry one ?

I do carry one sometimes, but usually I'm carrying a folder in my pocket. And I haven't produced my folder yet. The day will come that I won't have a use for a Shiro, but for now it is serving me well. The real world edge retention is a little disappointing though. Not that much better than the Sebenza. I used it on Sunday as a screwdriver to fix my glasses when the little screw fell out and it wrecked the edge. I hope my folder will address this common shortcoming, at least a little bit.

That’s too bad. Which steel is in your Shiro?

Used a spyderco ladybug in H1 to do the exact same thing and messed the edge up. But then, you look at H1 too hard and the edge starts melting. The serrated version is probably a good dive knife but that's about it( at least in my opinion)
