The atmosphere here lately

It's a condition that exists in the cold climates, especially during Jan & Feb. We don't get out much, and are D3 deficient. Causes depression, sluggishness, etc. There's a reason why places that have lots of darkness have a high rate of suicide.

Eat lots of Chocolate, Go buy some D3 and get some time in doing floor exercises or in bed if you can!

Peoples behavior in stores, in the street or on the roads, etc. and seeing what is happening in the world and seen in the news, to think this behavior wouldn't spill onto boards on the net is a little short sighted.

I hope its the depressing and awful cold winter that we can't seem to shake. It was 4 below at my house this morning. On MARCH 6! Ouch.

I hope it is not the depressing and awful trend I see on all forms of social media to be as nasty and degrading as possible about everything. I don't mind a good blow up once in a while in whine & cheese, heck you kind of expect it there!

social media have all the reliability of gossip
the power is undeniable but the ultimate effect is less impressive

I think it has a corrupting influence on online conversation, and mostly serves to generate a pack mentality -- in fact, special-interest groups use it to do just that. The spill-over to the rest of the internet can't be good.

I've never been negatively affected by what happens here. Yes, there do seem to be a few more trolls, or others exhibiting troll-like behavior lately. If I stop enjoying the spectacle of it, I just pop on over to the Traditional forum. It's darned-right pleasant in there. Just pull up a rocking chair, take out your trusty TRADITIONAL knife, and whittle a bit while listening to the tall tales and "back in my day" stories.:D Seriously, it's a great place to hang out....

Traditional, the complete polar opposite of W&C and the other place, I'm the same way, I go there for the folksy atmosphere, where the other place is likened to a gin mill, traditional is compared to grandma's front porch on a Sunday afternoon with grandpa, dad and the uncle's. :) that's what's nice about BFC, there's plenty of forums to visit, you don't have hang where you don't like the people. Funny thing is there are many folks who hang out at both ends of the forum and can differentiate between the two and the appropriate behavior for each respective forum. :)
