The Axe is Back Project

Thanks Maethor, great stuff. Long handle+offset paralell cutting edge+overhead swing=powerful fun!

axing more questions i see...

"Did you hear me? I axed you a question! I might just have to ax it again!"

from "Punisher - Warzone" (Great movie if you like seeing mobsters being killed :D)

Have you had a chance to use the BK9 yet?

Not yet, apart from splitting and chopping some leftover scrapwood in my room. It always takes some time to get out of town which is neccessary for using a knife this size without someone looking at you funny and some old idiots calling the police about "some dude with a short sword". Then I've got the SEK (german equivalent of SWAT) on my ass, and that's not really a desirable situation.

I think I will make it to the woods today, I'll be sure to post some pictures for you guys.

maethor- are you an American living in Germany?

or a German with very good English grammar?

either way, cant wait to see pics of Berlin forests destroyed with a BK9

If you could only see me blushing in front of my screen... I was born and raised in Berlin, my father is German, my mother was born in Austria (yes, the Glock country) and i tend to think my English is pretty bad. But I believe writing here and making videos for my Youtube channel helps me improving my English. I have little problems with grammar, but I think that I mix up different "levels" of speaking from time to time, so half of my sentence sounds very formal and the other half sounds like some redneck who's hardly able to speak like a normal human being (no offense to any rednecks with speaking inability on the forums :D).

Thank you for the kind words, I'll be sure to post some pictures or even a video of the release of the BK9's divine fury (that's one of these sentences that must be real weird to read for you "native speakers")

take care

maethor

Is redneck even a word in the German language?

even so you seem to know a lot about American culture. more so than I know about Europe's

"Yes, I'd like to report a German Redneck that is out of control, and carrying a short sword."

QuarterTank, redneck isn't a word in German. As for my knowledge of American culture... I think it's important to understand the cultural and/or ethnic background of the people you're dealing with. When I went hiking with the scouts (every summer we would go to a foreign country for three weeks with very little money) I always did a "background check" on the country we were visiting. I think it really helps to understand why people act how they act, and it helps to look behind common prejudices and misconceptions. For example, not every German wears leather pants or eats Kassler, Wiener Würstchen (which are actually austrian - like Hitler - but it seems like many people outside of Germany don't realize that Germany and Austria are not the same country) and Sauerkraut every day. In return, not every American lives in a trailer, is fat and owns a shotgun and a cowboy hat. Hell, there are even Germans who could be mistaken for Americans if this is the only thing you believe to know about "those crazy yanks"

So you see, it's always good to know about peoples backgrounds - might come in handy some day. I don't have my basement stocked with ammo, MRE's and fallout shelters, but I have my knowledge. Doesn't cost a thing. It's my way of "being prepared".

Oh, and foxx, remind me not to read any of your posts while drinking milk. 'Twas one helluva mess to clean up :D (see? I can talk redneck)

take care

Nope. Better stick with speaking like a normal human being. Since I'm a little overweight, have lived in a trailer when it was the best I could do, have a cowboy hat and a few shotguns, I feel qualified to critique your "redneck speak". A little more study would be in order. Your english is quite good my friend, your stereotypes could use a little work however. I am glad to know you have some Germans that could be mistaken for Americans though. That's wild.

Wow, are you angry at me now? I was being ironic and just listing some common prejudices that lots of Germans have about Americans. No offense intended.

No, of course I'm not angry at you. Do lots of Germans really think that about us? I had no idea. Nice axe video by the way.

Thank you :D Well, the xxxxxxx is sort of a stereotype all around the world :D

edited my previous statement out because we obviously have people here who can't take a little joke. Yes indeed, I was joking. I didn't mean to insult anyone. As I've mentioned numerous times before, I like to make fun of stereotypes. There's a big difference between that and making fun of random people USING sereotypes. We good now?

Wooohoo, now we're talking. Would you be so kind to shoot me a mail containing your original post? Didn't catch it before you edited the interesting stuff out.

Maethor, I told you I wasn’t angry at you. One thing you will find about us redneck folk is you won’t have to ask if we are angry or not. I’m not offended at all by being called fat, patriotic, shotgun toting, cowboy hat wearing, republican and all the stuff you decided to take down (except the sun burned part, I do try to avoid that). It’s right on the money. I’m proud we are so famous that we have a world-wide reputation. It’s awesome. Keep the good posts coming, I love learning more about our German friends and their views of Americans in general. It’s good to know you guys aren’t sore losers. (That’s just a little joke, I love teasing people too.):D
