The bane of your blade

Ugh fiberglass. Nylon straps (at least in my experience) are under considerable tension. Which helps. I agree though. I strop with the edge of cardboard (my ingenuity is matched with my inability to invest in leather and compound). It's interesting to see how greatly grittiness can vary box to box.

Precisely cutting denim on MDF. Chewed my PM2 blade right up.

Also notable: Zip ties, and packing tape. The tape mainly because it gets adhesive gum all over the bevel.

My S30V after cutting up one pair of jeans into 4"x7" rectangles to make a handle for another knife:

My Busse didn't care much for hidden barbed wire either. Could have been worse though.

Bane for already-made knives?

I put a pretty sizeable chip in my delica when I tried to cut through a cord that I thought was plastic but turned out to be plastic coated metal!

Had to cut down some sheet metal so it would fit in the compactor, basically re-enacted a cold steel video by punching through to start the tears.

Cutting insulation, dirty/damp cardboard... Eventually while cutting over pallets... The blade will find a screw head.
