The battle for my keyring....

If you like the Benchmite's metal construction, the Jester's one-hand convenience, and the oval shape of the Metro, you really should take a gander at the Spyderco SS Cricket. Seems to me it combines what you like best about all three knives.

The Cricket is nice and oval when folded, about the same size as the Benchmite. It's a frame-lock, so it's easier to stow one handed than the lockback Jester. It's bigger than the Jester, but the extra width makes it easier to open one handed than the jester, IMHO. And the "reverse S" blade edge cuts like you wouldn't believe.

I already have the Cricket and love the thing, it's my one *permanent* EDC, but it's too nice to banish to the keyring....

The benchmite is one-hand operable. Press the lock and flick it open. Works for closing too. Takes a mite of practice though....

Also makes a good kit knife being so thin and all.

I was going to say the same thing as AM. If you adjust the pivot screw and practice a little, the Benchmite II is reletively easy to open one handed.

BM II would be my choice of the three.

i second the benchmite II. its pretty easy to flick. or if you dont like that it only takes a little practice to grip it upside down, release the lock and use your ring or pinky to drag the blade out.

on mine, i just swapped out a leaf spring from a benchmite clone. now its automated and one hand friendly.
