The Becker BK 39 (6) Considerations ..... The right choice!

I wonder ... if you did ever strip the coating ... would the large BK&T come off with it?
 
If you didn't care about coatings or finish, why did you pay more for this version when the BK9 can be had for considerably less? Just wondering.
