The BEST Ganzo/Enlan/ Sanrenmu??

Umm, Beijing as a city banned locking knives, not China all together. Sounds like they're just being politically correct sallies.

I thought I read that one of those companies build Kershaws China knives. .
I think they use a few different Chinese companies. The Brawler for instance is made by Harnds, whose Viper knife is another highly regarded Chinese knife.

Sanrenmu makes the Chinese Spydercos, as well as a few CRKT knives.

I think pretty much all of them crank out knock offs in one form or another. People knock Ganzo but don't mind buying a Tenacious which is made by a company who has knock off Sebenzas, Striders, and still sells unlicensed Spydercos domestically.

The SRM-763 is probably my favorite of the SRM and Enlan/Bee offerings. I haven't handled any Ganzo ones.

Let's be clear, these companies rip off original American designs everyday, and that is not a good thing. That said they fill a roll for me. Because of Ganzo & SRM Benchmade now has thousands of my dollars.

When I first got in to knives I bought a few of these knock offs. This allowed me to try the axis lock without breaking the bank. I sold almost all of them off and replaced each knock off with the real deal from Benchmade. I only kept a few for various reasons. I have the Snody knock off since it is hard to come by a legit one and it is a great design. I still have a SRM 710 because it is a great little inexpensive knife. I keep it in a cabinet in the kitchen. It gets used for all sorts of nasty tasks I wouldn't want to do with my nice blades. And of course I still have an EL-01. This is by far the best knife they make in my opinion. Big, tough, well crafted, milled liners, $16. What's not to love. I replaced the crappy clip with one from Casey. It cost as much as the knife.

I have played with the Harnds Viper. I have no idea as to it's cost but if it is sub $20 I would be some impressed.

I received my El 01A today. I will post pics in a bit. The blade will shave with a little effort. A few swipes on the strop and it will be dangerous! :D Fit and finish are nice. Grinds look good. It has one brass washer and one teflon washer.....:o

Yup, sounds about right. I touch mine up on a ceramic rod a little and it could shave my whole leg with one pass! Good game last night BTW, and that's coming from a 9ers fan.

The 49ers will be a decent team.....when they all get out of jail. :D

The EL01A is a great knife. I am going to get a few more models.

Perhaps some of your boys can teach us how to get out of suspensions? :)

Get some pics of that el-01!

What is impressive is the size of these liners! I put a nickle next to it so you could see the thickness!! I couldn't get a pic of it, but the liners are milled out to decrease the overall weight.

The fit and finish are top notch--

I love the stand offs. They are not just plain spacers....

I have an Enlan EL-01 and will say that it is a fantastic knife and equals or beats many of the Chinese knives from Spiderco, Kershaw etc. On mine the F&F was flawless and the design is not a direct copy of any other knife. Boker uses it for one of their models.

It is now in my EDC rotation.

Where is the best place to buy one of these? I'm thinking about buying that Ganzo 704 to turn into a trainer.
