The best present ever...

I purchased a bottle of the Dave's Ultimate insanity, but that is too hot to use directly, it has to be diluted. the temporary insanity sauce is about as hot as you can take directly, but I think it has a good flavor as well. Most of my friends cannot handle it, however. It makes you sweat, and has a nice burn.

Fresh habaneros are a foine way to heat up a dish. Just be sure to wash your hands thoroughly after prepping 'em...A former co-worker who I gave some to spent time in his shower cursing my name 'coz he whipped his Johnson out to take a whizz without properly washing his hands first.

For a little less ferocious a burn, I recommend this stuff.

I told my wife a few weeks ago that she could get me the tabasco gift set for Christmas. I love the jalepeno sauce on chicken and burgers ;)

Go to the local mercado and buy some dry chiles of your choice (puya, chipotle, güeros, chile de árbol, dozens of varieties to choose from), maybe get some powdered chile too, then get some green tomatoes, cilantro, garlic, onion, good vinegar.

Go home, wash, smash and blend on your molcajete or metate, add some salt, pass to a container with the vinegar, if you wish you can add some mezcal or pulque, and you may cook it for a while over low heat, let it ferment for a few days...

Like grandma used to say: "salado para que dure, picoso para que rinda" (something like: "salty so it will last, spicy so it will go a long way").

I hope he washed his hands VERY good before he took a leak...

one of the milder hot sauces. Have forgotten the name. A nearby town produced an elixir called HADACOL & was like a tonic. Lots of hard shell Baptist ladies took it & it worked. It's main ingredient was , I believe, ALCOHOL ! It was made by one of their senators named La Blanc. When asked why the name he said,"Well, had'a call it something ".

My old stomach gets by with Texas Pete fron Winston-Salem NC.

I'm not going for heat, rather TASTE. I like spice and some heat, but not the ass-burners like Dave's insanity sauce etc. Cholula has a nice flavor to it that works well on a surprisingly large number of foods/dishes.

Amen brudda! Cholula is my favorite everyday hot sauce. Frank's comes in second, with Tabasco third. None of these are the hottest, but they have decent heat and taste. I can't stand any of the sauces with the concentrate added. Not real food IMO.

Temporary Insanity is a nice sauce. Not all that hot though. Lately I've been a big fan of a sauce called Satan's Blood. at 800,000 scoville units, it makes Dave's seem like Tabasco in terms of heat.
