Once, on a hike, he used his knife to extract an ugly thing from one of his toes, and just after that he used the same knife to cut his cheese for lunch.
I use a Spyderco Catcherman every day. It's excellent on meat and cheese, but does not spread condiments very well. I've been thinking of getting another knife to complement it, the BenchMade Skirmish looks like it would do well, that big recurve could make a good spoon.
