The big finale (operation two weeks)

I have noticed secondary market demand and prices have gone down with several makers. Economy I guess. I couldn't figure out what was going on at Blade this past year. The crowds and scrambling to get blades seemed to me to be down across the entire show. I am sure it will get better,at least I hope it does. We can't stand for it to get worse. As for myself,I am clearing the same amount on my pay checks now as I was 8 years ago.

For all but the already wealthy, income has been stagnant as prices rise for a net loss as the 'middle class' drops from 63 to 39% of the national pop. over the last few decades. There are many fewer of us now and we have less to play with than before.

Here is my own guess: Before 2006 Busse production was limited, with short runs and long waits. 2007 seemed to be the turning point, as more knives at shows suggested increased production capacity. Jerry had probably invested in more CNC stations. It is my speculation that this capacity increase allowed Busse to increase their military orders, by trimming margins to lower the price point for mil unit orders. At the same time the extra capacity meant Busse could sell more knives at retail to us, at better profit margins. One way to look at this is our retail orders helped to subsidize the mil business. Fast forward to 2015. The military is shrinking. Overseas operations are scaled way back. Mil orders are thus down. So now Busse has excess capacity to fill. Response: Operation Two Weeks. The tricky part is to not flood the market and exceed demand. He has to still limit the run size to keep things interesting while hoping the customer base continues to grow.

Jerry changes things up every now and then. This latest is a really interesting and novel twist, but he's never been stable, wait that didn't come out right :foot:
He is adaptable, yeah, that is what I meant!
I like this, though, we get to see a lot more variation in a lot less time. Without traveling to a show.

Pete,

I share that concern. What's more --- I'm concerned people are going to soon forget that INFI spanks SR-101 ;)

No but really ---- INFI is better ---- all you new piglets best recognize!!

Dear god --- I'm starting to sound like Bravado

BINGO!!!!

Let's drink!!!

Jerry:D

Alright BossMan --- I challenge you to do something no other knife designer/business owner would do ---- give us just a small taste of the strategic bacon in your master plan ---- why "Operation 2 Weeks"??? No, but really --- it would be really awesome for you to share some insight.

If this was true ---- I would be so impressed if Jerry confirmed it. Sounds very plausible to me. Lol I already know we're not going to get a specific response from Jerry ---- but if he did and shared some details --- I think my feelings of infatuation might grow <3

It is what it is. There is a point of market saturation. This release of many models very often creates a hysteria and purchase. But remember the market is relatively small. It encompases a several hundred maniacs and collectors.

At some point people run out of money and their sales will show it. Then they revert to custom orders, military runs and catching up on old orders. Then the cycle will repeat itself. There are things Busse can do to increase demand and they may or may not know what they are ;)

We're all having too much fun to stop buying now. Does Wells Fargo offer a Bussegage or Busse Equity Loan?

Mr. Busse is a marketing genius! I watch in awe and amazement how he keeps us on the edge of out seats with our wallets open!!! THANK YOU, Jerry!!!! More, MORE!!!

Remember, Jerry hasn't even really begun to re-release all the classic Swamp Rats! He's got a long way to go....
