The biggest folding knife you eDC??

Well it's a necrothread, but i'll bite:

I currently carry a ZT 452cf as my self defense folder.
Super light, super fast, super thin, super intimidating with a 4.1" blade.

To me it has much more to do with girth than length. I can carry a millie or police no problem but a ZT 200 is a bit of a PITA.

Absolute overkill for my daily needs and they only work with some of my pants, but fun nonetheless.

I think that pretty well describes the big knife experience. Its generally the fun component that keeps one carrying a 5.5" blade. Big knives just have more knife flavor - more steel, more edge, and more thwack.

My largest would be my 0452CF. Every other knife I generally carry tends to have a 3.5ish length blade.

I often carry my Cold Steel holdout 6" serrated blade in my back pocket. Just because I ALWAYS carry at least one knife. Should be 2 according to one of my hero's Massad Ayoub. Check out his site. I am sure you will agree with much that he has to say. Regards Surleyone

Gotta love it ! Fell in love with it in 1971 carried it for years, but being a carpenter and wearing a tool belt I gave it up for a Gerber ez-out which I have carried ever since. Except to carry my much better & more expensive knives when not at work. My AlMar Eagle 4" folder G 10 grips of late. Also an Emerson Comander, Spyderco 4" Police model, & various Cold Steel folders, a 6" Holdout , a Recon 1 4", A Gerber Appelgate-Fairburn covert 4' folder + a spring assisted traditional 4' stiletto & a whole lot of fixed blades. whatever moves me on the day I get up. When we are "up north" of Toronto, Canada. I often wear large [as in 7+ in fixed blades] exposed on my hip. As we are not in an "Urban" setting and many people hunt + fish in these areas nobody gets upset that you have a HUGE fixed blade hunting knife on your hip. Really quite refreshing. No one looks at you funny or says anything. Everyone just treats it as normal, especially in hunting season when 1/2 the people you see in town are in either camo or hunter orange.

I posted in this thread 2.5 years ago that the biggest I will carry is a ZT 0561. I still have it and I still carry it, but I also carry a Spyderco Military and a Spyderco Manix 2 XL. All of these are more or less in the same size range, the Military being a little bit trimmer than the others.

I had the crazy idea that I should try something longer like the Spyderco Tatanka. Cold Steel makes a few knives in this size range but most are not the style that I would carry. The Tatanka is a bit expensive for an impulse buy so I won't act on that anytime soon.
