The BK-22 arrived

So today I put a new convex edge on this bad boy.
I rounded the should of the bevel with my belt sander 800 grit and I finished it with 1500 grit sandpaper free hand and then a strop.
I took these scales off my BK-9 and I like the way they look and feel. Perfect in the hand.
I will either be making my own scales or buying some G10 or another set of micarta's from Tomar's.
The sheath I will be making some time this week.
Thanks
Joe

The reasoning behind the straps being so tight is that because they are nylon, they will stretch over time. Being super tight at first means they will stretch to a length that will still be a tight fit, just a little easier to manage. Other knives I have used had looser straps to begin with, and after the breaking in period had stretched to being much looser than I would have liked.

Either way, excited to see what you do in the way of mods. Good luck sir!

He said it best.... the straps will loosen up (within reason) in no time and still manage to keep everything secure.

Did you ever mod the sheath? I just bought the BK10 which has the same one. Curious to see it.

Strong bump I know
