I'm starting to put the finishing touches on this belt rig.
I did install the micarta handle on the new BK2 Campanion, and I must say I like the feel.
The scales alter the balance a little, but the skeletonized tang does help keep the handle weight in check.

Here's the rig with dedicated sheath, a Spec Ops Survival:

The tin is one I picked up from BestGlide. It has a rubber seal around the lid, and it's just a tad smaller than the normal Altoids tin. It's a better fit for this sheath.

Here are contents spread out. They consist of a Light My Fire 2.0 steel and whistle, an ESEE arrowhead, a button compass, a Photon II light, a Leatherman Mini Tool, and a packet of petroleum jelly cotton. I'll probably top off the tin with some strike anywhere matches, maybe coated with a little wax.

The fire steel is one I just picked up today at REI. It's a cool gadget.

They've changed the striker to be more compact and ergonomic.

The striker and steel nest together nicely.

And the big bonus is that the striker is actually a survival whistle.

Good stuff Guyon. Sweet looking rig. What's the purpose of the ESEE AH?

I think it's for killing Injuns, but I'm not 100%. :D
(BTW, I can say that because I'm part Cherokee.)
Seriously, I think the intended idea as a survival tool is to lash it to a long stick.
Then, you have a nice spear for gigging animals, fishes, etc.

You can also just mount it to an arrow and shoot it.

Hey, I said it was for Injun killing... ;)
As far as lashing cordage, the Spec Ops sheath comes stock with a nice bundle of paracord.

That's a classy looking rig. Love the firesteel too. Looks like I'll be hitting Brentwood next trip to Nashville.

Just make sure it's used on Cherokee. ;) :D

I see, for spearing and gigging. That's what it appeared to be for, but I wasn't sure if you could lash it to a small stick and make a small knife out of it. Didn't know if the sides were sharp enough or not. Looks cool.

Sweet kit, Guyon. Simple, functional, and compact. What's not to love?

The more I see of Spec Ops stuff, the more I like it! The survival sheaths are getting harder and harder to find, so I just might have to pick up the Combat Master for my spare BK7...

Looks pretty neat. I have bought some of the stuff from Best Glide, but I have never bought a tin. I like Altoids, but they are sometimes a bit large. Thanks for pointing out that they are a bit smaller.

It wouldn't be the most ergonomic knife in the world, but the sides are sharp enough for that function. In fact, they're very sharp.

Very cool. I feel the need to get one of those ESEE arrow heads, just haven't done it yet. How do you like that little LED light there? I have had a few of those and I think they are pretty good.

Looks nice Guyon! Really digging that sheath with those Micarta slabs!

What Leatherman is that?

I may not can match socks, but I can accessorize a good knife. :D
That's a Mini Tool, an oldie but a goodie. Now available only on the secondary market.
It was billed as the most compact full-sized pliers that Leatherman put out. May still be.

Pretty sweet setup there Guyon. I am sure your chicken approves.

The chicken is in Boca right now, decompressing.
He just couldn't handle the whole moderator thing since he's a killer and not a peace-maker.

ETA: Here's the rig riding strong side.

I'm liking that set up, I may have to look into one of those sheaths. How tight does the blade fit, any rattling? I know I want a couple of those LMF 2.0s, but haven't seen them on the shelves here yet.

The fit was perfect without any modding. There's actually a little bit of rub/tension/friction as you sheath the knife.
However, it's really easy to mod the liners in these sheaths. I've done it with both boiling water and with a hair dryer.

No, that sounds fine, thanks man. I like a little friction, means a good tight fit :) PM coming your way.
