The BK2 Rig Is Starting To Come Together

Since there's some Spec Ops talk here, folks might be interested in this thread:

tundratrader is in talks with Spec Ops about a longer sheath for large knives up to 10".
Sounds like it would be a great sheath for the BK-9 if it ever comes to fruition.
In fact, even though that's a Busse forum thread, you might want to chime in and express some interest regarding your Becker BK9's.
The more diverse the interest, the more likely Spec Ops might actually make the model.

Yeah, could be good for a lot of folks. From what I've seen it would be a good option for knives like Scott Gossman's Big Bore Tusker as well.

Has the owner of said sheath company squared away whatever problems there may have been? There's info in the "Good Bad & Ugly" forum that I did read, and it put my mind at pause regarding making an order.

I briefly searched GB&U for Spec Ops and did not see any threads that address this topic.
However, I'll admit that I personally cannot speak to Spec Ops customer support.
I've never had a Spec Ops sheath malfunction or show manufacturing problems, so I've never had the need to contact the company.
The sheaths are sold by a wide range of vendors, so maybe what you saw was a problem with an individual vendor?

These scales look beautiful, and the sheath and the tin can kit are some pretty cool stuff. Thanks for posting!

Thanks, fellas. I like the way it's coming together. I took a dozen strike-anywhere matches, dipped the ends in candle wax, and added them to the kit along with a length of striker surface.

Biscuit Whomper- since seeing the survival sheath, I've been on the hunt for it.

really like the look of it compared to the Combat Master

soooo, if you hear of anymore out there, I would like to get my hands on one

I like the tin too, really slick set up

I'll keep an eye and an ear out.
Frankly, this one and the one that Moose got were flukes.
I put out a WTB for Spec Ops shorts in olive drab because Spec Ops, in all their wisdom, discontinued olive drab a while back.
Someone here at BFC contacted me and asked if I was interested in the Survival sheaths.
The two sheaths were in his friend's B&M shop, and the price was certainly right.

I put the matches in last night, and it's getting crowded. However, I was thinking today that there's still room for 10 to 12 feet of monofilament line and a couple of small fish hooks.

I did find some olive drab, short Combat Masters BTW. My Crewman's in one, and the other sheath is set back for my Ritter Perseverance #9.

Guyon you should snag some of those small magnifying cards and toss one in there. Never know when a fresnel lens might be useful and they take up no space.

Thanks, I had one in a drawer and tried it. It fit fine.
I made a little more space in the tin by removing that cord end on the fire steel and just tying a knot in the cord. Truth be told, the cord could go entirely. And probably will.

On the fresnels though, their functionality is definitely conditional. Overcast days mean little in the way of a focused beam for firestarting. I think the better use is in a first-aid kit. They really do help in seeing splinters and ticks and such up close.

Yeah I was thinking more for first aid as well. But, if necessary, one can start a fire with them.

neat setup... too bad those sheaths are hard to find.

Awesome kit. Functional, and sexy as hell. I have been debating on getting an ah1 for my BK2 kit. I think u may have convinced me.

When I get more time in the summer, I'm going to do some frog gigging and maybe some carp gigging with the AH1. I'll post up about it here and over at ESEE's new haunt.

FYI, I have seen multiple postings of kydex sheaths for the AH1 on EPrey. They look small, may fit your kit.

Like I said, you convinced me...just ordered and ESEE AH1. And I got it for less than 13 bucks SHIPPED!

Hell Yeah, looking forward to this one.
