The BK5, 7, or 9......

I only have a 2 and a 9, but in the "one knife" scenario, I think the 7 might be a safe bet. Riz_aaroni's got one and it looks to be a pretty damn versatile tool.

The 9 is really a large knife. For bushcraft type jobs it's a lot of blade. Not to say that you can't make a pot hanger or tent stake with a 9, but it's about 50% longer than what you really need.

Plus every time I pick one up I have to yell "GET TO THE CHOPPA"

So I guess I am saying 7.

I'll be contrary and say BK9. It's a much better chopper than the BK7, a slightly better batonner (in that you could go through slightly thicker logs if that floats your boat) and an equivalent slicer. Neither will be brilliant for small work - the BK7 should be a bit more nimble but not enough to offset the other stuff in my opinion.

Besides the BK9 is bigger and that means more Becker knife. :D

The NInE is a lot better chopper. A whole lot.

I have the 2, 7, 9, 11, and 14(EsKabar) and I say go for the 7 also! Though I am still looking to get a 5 at some point...
