Alright guys; here's my first offering in a couple of years. This one is pretty wicked. It looks better in person than in the photos. And it's priced right since it's my first one in awhile. Especially considering all the work I put into it. I also need the money to pay for the Knifemaker's Guild, and I only like to spend money on knifemaking with profits FROM knifemaking.

Blade- The blade was made by Snake River Knives Damascus. They did the original grind, but I ground the serrations and added plenty of filework. I polished off their damascus lines and redid them to fit the knife. I also made it red using a special chrome paint, added an hourglass, and coated everything with tough epoxy to protect it.

Handle- I used some good mammoth tooth scales and inlaid 14 abalone dots. I carved out a web design and coated everything with epoxy again for durability. The bolster is elephant ivory with a big opal inlay. I consider the opal to be the venom :)

Case- I replaced the glass with acrylic for durability and made a nice web design. The knife sits in a carbon fiber sheet that I carved out and shaped for display. I also made a web with fishing line that buttons down if you want to hang on the wall.

$399- ONE TIME PRICE DROP! $349 Paypal is on me. Shipping will be the actual amount.

Thanks for looking!

God Bless,
Richard

ummmmmmmmmmmmmm, ok not what i expected . i gotta say wtf sorry im a brutally honest person . :barf::barf::barf:

Thanks for the honesty. Everyone either loves this or they hate it. I need to take better photos though. It got a lot of attention at the last knife show, but the photos don't do it justice. Hopefully I'll be able to earn a good compliment from you in the future.

God Bless,
Richard

Yeah wonderfully creative.
The knife belongs in a museum. Should easily last forever and a day.

My wife just now came over and said "hideous"
That means you're up there with the BIG boys... the best makers in America.
Your a made man.... To her Jason Knight knives are hideous. Burt Foster knives are hideous and now your knife is hideous too... KUDOS!!! ;)

Haha. It IS suppose to have a hideous quality to it; sort of like a black widow, lol. I really like it though. I think about 1 in 3 people love it and everyone else hates it ;)

Looks like it came off the set of one of them there sinus friction movies.:D I cant make up my mind if I like it or not but I would add it to my collection in a minute just for the novelty of it.

So you brought a dama blade, murdered it with paint and god knows what = $449?

I am in the wrong profession o.O not sure if your serious but hell if you can make a living doing that..all I gotta say is /hats off

To each his own I guess ;)

It took a lot longer than what you insinuate. But if you want to put it that way...yes, I suppose. The blade was $90, the mammoth tooth scales and Ivory were $60, the opal was $10, the display case was $15, plus all the other little things like the translucent paint, acrylic, epoxy, sanding materials, etc. were at least $20. So $200 invested, and I have to make a profit for my time somewhere. I lowered it to $399, but that's the lowest I can go. I'd rather keep it myself than sell for less.

Richard

I get the whole making profit thing but $400 for a knife you didn't make yourself (from what I can see you just modify) seems pretty brutal- I would advise checking out the sort of prices knives created by the bladesmiths go for on the forum to see why I am so :confused: about your post.

But then again I don't understand abstract art so I could be way out of line and just unable to see priceless art when its in front of me. ;)

As a side note bladeforums is international and we dont all speak americano as a native tongue ;) so grammatical errors will occur- my bad.

I apologize. Your grammar is very good for being international. Where from? And I did do most of the work myself. Those serrations took a while to grind. I have made blades before, but I got a divorce and lost my forge in it. So right now I'm using blanks. But these are extremely good blanks. Like I said, this drop point was $90.

That's how a black widow looks brother. They are black with a red hourglass. They got their name because the female is WAY bigger than the male, and she kills and eats him after they mate. So she's always a widow, lol. And thanks for the compliment! :D
