I dunno. The people who are donating these knives for the monthly giveaways are getting some publicity out of it -- I don't mean to minimize their generosity at all ... it's easier to justify your generosity to yourself (not to mention your wife) when you can say it's not just a giveaway; it's getting your knives some publicity. The winner usually reviews the knife and people find out about it who might not have otherwise, and that could generate more sales than buying an ad in a magazine (you can tell your wife).
None of that would apply if somebody donated a blue Native for a prize -- everybody on Bladeforums already knows about them. Who should donate it, and why should he? What excuse will he give his wife for giving away a knife instead of buying her jewelry?

Not to mention the fact that the Natives are a special for forum members that we are still in the hole over.
We need to break even on them before we start giving them away.
On top of that, we have about 6-7 knives in the pipeline right now that need to be given away before we start on the Natives....

If I am being too nosy, just say so, but how much is BF in the hole on the Blue Natives? If there are some left after vacation, I will probably order another to keep as a "collector" as I am very fond of my first. Also, did you ship my sheath?

Rather than give any specifics, I'll put it like this: Our margin on the Natives is not very high. This is because we wanted to get you guys a good knife for a low price. We still have a bunch of them left, so we haven't hit the break even point yet.
The idea, however, wasn't just to break even, but to make enough to help cover the bills for this site, and still bring you a good knife for a low price.
As for the sheaths, they came in yesterday, and should start going out today.
