It's a shame that we haven't seen more of these. I personally think that it's a very good design. Not a khukuri, of course, but good in other ways. I'm still impressed with the way the handle feels.
I'll admit that I got a little carried away with the concrete. But, if I hadn't thought the BWB was up to it, I wouldn't have attempted it. I would specifically caution anyone else against trying something like that. Picking up little bits of concrete before the lawnmower finds them can be rough on the knees.
The tarwar does have a guard, Krull, but it's thin and difficult to see in the picture.
The transition is going well. I'm growing a beard, looking for a job, and enjoying my life for the first time in nearly a decade.
