I like the leather sheath...but can you post a pic of the standard sheath the BD will come with sans the leather sheath.

At this time the only sheath we will have for the Bog Dog is the Optional leather sheath. No standard sheath is included with the knife.

Dwayne is right. He and I are more than willing to sheath these bad boys. I am going to pass on the optional sheath for this one and make my own in leather and I will take a stab at a kydex rig as well. These are going to be awesome blades guys, if you didn't get to handle them at either of the Blade shows, you are really going to be surprised.

This knife looks good. I'll probably pick one up. I wish the standard line of fixed blades were ground thinner like the D2s. Obviously there is a trade off with the grind but I always favor a thinner grind that cuts better and is easier to sharpen. Bill Siegle makes big tough knives with thin grinds and the edge holds up very well. So I think it's a reasonable proposition.

Just curious, but why is a sheath optional, and not included? I could see that on a folder (you guys should make a folder someday

Correct me if I'm wrong on this front, but I believe the sheath is optional in order to cut costs for those who are going to look into alternative methods of sheathing. I, for one, don't really have a use for the sheath that can be purchased on the site, but I think some more customized leather would do the trick for me quite nicely.

Zal is correct. We get a lot of feedback from our customers regarding sheaths. Some like the leather, some would rather have kydex. We have decided to let you decide so we have kept the price lower so you could buy exactly what you want and not get a sheath you weren't interested in.
