The Boker Burnleys Have Landed!

The orange one is on ebay, but I like the CF one better.

Mine arrived this morning, number 0046. It's good, but I have to concur with the 2 major complaints with this knife:
1) It's hard to open with the thumbdisk. I sort of have to thumb and finger it to get it out quick. Will probably do the flipper mod.
2) The handle is super compact so if you slide your finger at the tip or near the edge when the blade is closed, you do run the risk of nipping yourself.

My only other complaint is that I wish it had a deep carry clip, although I like that the angles of the clip match the shape of the handle.

Otherwise it's a very sleek design, probably my 1st go-to for carry at work or during dressy occasions.

Good! ^
I wonder if Boker will address these issues with second run?
That's Fantastic pimp work too!!

And Alexander will do it for a great price! Maybe $25 not sure now. For just the flipper part. Email him guys!

My Boker Plus Kwaiken came tonight, number 0164, and I have to say it is fantastic! One of the best production folders I've handled to date. The design is about as cool as it gets, the materials and execution are awesome (for a folder of this style, AUS 8 is just fine, easy to sharpen, and holds an edge perfectly well enough for the fine work this blade shape will excel at)... Green micarta, awesome dark stonewash, IKBS, and the most badass blade shape ever? The lines are also sexy as hell, the way the clip, micarta, and liner all match one another. The deployment took a minute to get used to (hard to get to the disk), but once I figure out what angle to approach it from, it flies open easy as can be, every time. Bravo Luc! Bravo Boker! Really glad Boker got this one right.

The other thing I like about the design is that when closed, it's slim and easy to grip and long enough to make a nice first-line impact weapon.

Mine is on its way back from Alex!!

lscf scales with Mokume backspacer and etched blade! Looks like a true custom.

I'm very much in love with the design and anything ikbs always sells me.
For $99, I think that is a nice summary of the package as a whole.
I'm pulling the trigger tonight.

I realized, that Böker is using AUS-8 for the blade. While this knife is almost some time in rotation and all around. How does the AUS-8 work in view of edge retention and resharping. I have a CRKT in AUS-8 and found that it´s not holding an edge pretty long.

I´m just curious about your experience with that choice of steel...

Andi- My kwkn is for just for lookin at. SN#0003. :)
Wait for others to reply.

Andi, I would compare a good AUS-8 (like Cold Steels) to 440C, maybe a little softer.
I'd say Böker is capable of a good heat treatment, CRKT maybe not so much.

Thanks C_Becker - that´s good to know :)

I already thought it would be a steel like the AUS8 made by CRKT (which is no real bigdeal, imo).

My Kwaiken has performed wonderfully for EDC uses, AUS8 or not. In fact, I've carried it MOST days since I got it, and used it most days, and haven't had to sharpen it. A quick few passes on the strop have been more than enough to keep it scary sharp.
