... a picture with knives in it- not related to Hunter S. Thompson- in Rolling Stone? I guess anything is possible.

A few years back Rolling Stone had an article about Bob Dylan. There was a pic of him and his band playing cards on the tour bus and there was a small Spyderco on the table next to the pile of chips. :p Keeping the game honest, I guess.

(When that issue first came out, I mentioned it over on the Spyderco subforum here, and someone was kind enough to scan the page, blow it up and post it. I can't find it in the archives, though.)
 
I've read that Alton Brown is a knife collector (and not just chef knives). I believe he's attended Blade Show at least a few times.

Yes, Alton is a collector/user. He has his own line of Kershaw Shun kitchen knives too (Alton's Angles). If you watch any episodes of the "Feasting on Asphalt" series he did for Food Network, you will see him and his crew using a number of different Kershaw folders for food prep as they bike across America.
