Hey, guys. I'm a stranger in these parts. I mainly hang out with the Strider and Busse clans (who get along about as well as the Hatfields and McCoys). Anyway, as is my wont, I did something heretical: I ventured into the Custom Knives for Sale by Individuals forum.
There I met a fella name of Buddy Sherart (handle: Buddy S.). His website address is part of his profile: http://www.fototime.com/ftweb/bin/f...-4259-8EDE-724B74E050A5}&inv=1A5F3AB6BA6EAB9& Made the mistake of dropping in for a look-see. Man, this guy has some A+ knives. Made an old Strider guy arch an eyebrow and give a low whistle.
That ain't the end of it. Some of Buddy's knives are for sale. Saw a De Leon jungle bowie with an 8-inch blade that spoke my name. Righteous price, too. But I demurred. Strider guy buying a custom knife? Might get booted out of the church. Yeah, but Buddy sweet-talked me. Buy it, you'll like it, he said. Seemed like a nice enough guy, so, what the heck, I did.
Knife arrived in under a week. Packed like it was a work of art. Turns out it is a work of art! Still ain't a Strider. But any Strider guy gives me lip for buying this knife from Buddy better know his knives real good. Because the fit, finish, and steel on this knife are real sweet. Can't decide whether to frame it or go out and find me a wild boor to tussle with.
That Buddy's real good to buy from, too. Honest. Reliable. Good deals. Sort of like buying high-end customs from Walmart. But if you're spent out from buying knives this month, do yourself a favor: don't visit Buddy's website. It's like crack for knife nuts.
