The Build Quality of Microtech Knives

Just picked up a Tachyon II Tanto. Never owned one of their balisongs before, or even handled one. I have to say, this thing is exceptional. It's quite beautiful and fit-n-finish is perfect. Of course, all workings are exposed, and it's really hard to screw up a balisong. Now, if I could just find a bit for the pivot screws...

As to the above post, it looks more like we have a knifesturbation problem, rather than a mechanical issue. If you cycle an auto's spring quickly and constantly, you heat it up, and cause problems with breakage. I had a Protech Runt that I broke two springs on that way, until I learned to control myself. The last spring has lasted 10 years, with no problems. I suspect that may be Mr. Crotchrockits problem.

The build quality of microtech knives is nothing short of amazing. Of the many ive owned ive only had 2 that had problems and they were used so i dont know if it was a problem that originated with them or the original owners. IMHO the best way to describe the fit and finish is superlative. Probably the most refined production knives currently made. I wish more companies (especially those making autos) would follow suit with their own sense of style. While I feel pro-tech makes and outstanding knife that for sure will last just as long, microtech seems to have that something extra that separates it from the rest.

Microtech is my favorite brand to collect. I collect them simply for the cool factor. I have several and have never "used" them. My collection includes:
Socom elite
Socom delta
Ludt gen 4
Ludt gen 5
Mini ludt
Ultratech
Assailant
Curahee
Crossfire
DOC
Fit and finish is excellent. I have had a slight issue with blade centering on the social delta, but that's it. I cannot comment on how they hold up to hard use or edc, because I am simply a collector. My edc' usually include Emerson, ZT, or spyderco. As far as user fixed blades I prefer Esee(own everything Esee makes and use them all).
