My nephew has decided to serve in the Army, and has enlisted. I'm proud of him. He has really developed into a good young man. There were times we were worried, and we'll continue to worry too. This was a good decision. Congratulations bro.

So, while he's here for a visit, I let him pick a blank for me to make up for him. He picked the Bushcraft Karda blank that I ground out to demonstrate the Scandi grind to the guild. So he gets the first Bushcraft Karda.

He also picked Cocobolo, and I put a mosaic pin in there for him. The knife is 7.25" OAL with a 2.5" blade. The steel is 3/32" thick 01 with a wicked Scandi grind and a penetrator tip. Its got a black paper micarta liner with four black carbon fiber pins and matching black bullseye filler.

love the looks of that bushcraft karda, excellent design
good luck to your nephew, i'm sure he'll make a fine solider.

I'm really excited about it too. I like making small knives, and this one just seemed to get sexier and sexier as it came to life. Fun to do.

Sweetness. Looks like a very practical knife. Your nephew has the best knife in the Army now probably.

Please thank him for choosing to serve:thumbup:

What a sweet little knife, Andy.
It looks like it can do the job of a larger sized blade.

Right on,
:D

Cool thread! I love the bushcraft karda. That one yesterday was sweet... I was hoping it would fly under the radar and go unnoticed but it went in the first post.

I agree Tod... I too was hoping it might slip through but no chance. :(
