I'm not really sure what can be done in a folder that hasn't already been done. Would it really be much better than the folders already on the market?
I think it would have to be big... real big. 4.5-5" blade. Super-heavy-duty frame lock.
.
If Busse were to do a folder, I'd appreciate it if they left the hardness of the INFI slightly higher than normal to offer some additional edge retention. The day Busse does introduce a folder there will be mass Chaos here on the forums do to the shear excitement. I personally don't know if Busse will ever come close to producing a folder, however if they did I'm not for certain just how long the enthusiasm would last in the long run. Such a folder would have mighty big shoes to fill in the cut throat Semi-custom folder world. I mean Strider, CRK, and Hinderer......
It's been done... of course, these have nothing on the "Official" Busse folder

You can say that again. These are cool and all, but don't compare to the real deal.
I don't understand. The way the both of you are talking about "it". It makes me think that "it" (An official Busse-made folder) already exists...
Does it? Has it maybe been a novelty at a show or what??
Thanks

Yes Virginia, there is a Busse Combat folder . . . .
The single greatest feature of the Busse Combat Folder is that it has been shown to have “unparalleled, proven integrity” in “LIVE” demonstrations at both BLADE West and BLADE Atlanta!!!!
What exactly is “unparalleled, proven integrity”???? Well, it’s not exactly a feature of the knife per se, but rather a feature of the men who proudly call themselves INFI HOGs. . . .
I can't remember the exact number of HOGs who have held the Busse Combat Folder prototype, operated the mechanism, and/or played with it at both BLADE Show West and BLADE Show Atlanta. But these HOGs gave their word and a handshake to keep the many unique design features confidential and I have never thought twice about that trust being broken. . . . There were no disclosures to be signed, no chance of any legal ramifications looming in the event of a broken trust, just a handshake and honor among men. The prototypes started being handed around over 3 years ago and I challenge you to find a description of them anywhere.
There are several HOGs who actually purchased some of these prototypes back then, but you will not find proof of that anywhere either. So, the “myth” of the Busse Combat folder is not really a myth, but rather a long held trust that is the stuff that legends are made of. If not for the honor and integrity of these many HOGs, there would be no speculation about the folder, no myth, no doubt, no questions. It is only the “unparalleled, proven integrity” of these many HOGs that now stands between fact and fiction.
Nuke On My Wayward HOGs!!!

The image at the top of those three is the cubera, a folder design that had a 5 year (or similar, I forget exactly how long) silence agreement put on it for anyone who purchased it. When that time came up, an owner sold one on ebay. There are slight variations between them, but all are similar in size and handle design to the one shown. It has a patented lock on the top that, as far as I can tell, acts similar to the axis lock from benchmade but via a very different mechanism, one that is likely much stronger (especially set into a solid block of aluminum/whatever metal that is). Similar in that you pull it back and the blade swings free, let go and it locks into place.
Personally I think the handle looks fine, though the metal finish looks more slippery than ideal. The main complain I have is the blade length, height and presence of a choil. It's a big footprint for much blade you end up with.
