We're all guilty of doing it....ya'll know what I mean....a new guy comes along in the General Discussion area looking for that one magic knife for a set price and one of us has to say it loud and proud:

BUY A SEBENZA!!! :D

So this is the "Buy a Sebenza" thread to let loose all of the funny times you can recall seeing this phrase tossed out there to the helpless buyer :p

One of my favorites is the "I'm looking for a knife that does everything, tough as nails, and my budget is about $20 bucks...what can I get." Then one of you says, "BUY A SEBENZA!!!"

Cracks me up everytime :o

Now if one of you WAS one of those guys shopping around, did you take the advice and are you better or worse off (wallet dying) because of that famous phrase?

You bastards got me. My wallet is far worse off but I have three of the finest knives on earth with a forth on the way.:D

My favorite is when someone is torn between buying a sebenza or an umnumzaan.
And someones always says 'Might as well get them both!'

Or someone thinking of getting either Small Sebenza or Mnandi, then "Get Large Sebenza! Oh no, get Umnumzaan!!"

"I've heard a lot about Sebenza's, but have never tried them. The $400 price tag just seems a bit high. What do you guys think?"

Well, I didn't even bother mentioning it, you bastards managed to infect me with CRKitis without even spreading your heinous propaganda! :D

I don't think I have ever been influenced by a thread on here to buy a Sebenza. I already had one before coming here. As to whether or not it's a proper recommendation to someone looking for a quality folder I would say absolutely.

It's just an example of people sharing their passion with others.

For myself, no amount of thread-reading would ever have convinced me. I was given the first one, and THAT did convince me.

Or you just have to be addicted to sharp stuff enough, and start hearing someone else going "Hey, this is even better"... :D

I had a great deal of apprehension prior purchasing my first Sebenza. After I got it in my hand, nobody had to say another word, I wanted more of them. But I got to admit my first one was purchased after reading the Chris Reeve part of the forum a number of times and reading the "you don't know what a good knife is, until you hold a Sebenza in your hand" stuff. It just got to me, I knew I was going to buy one, but dang, the price. Like I said, nobody has to mention a word to me about the quality of CR knives, "especially the Umnumzaan", what a knife :).

It was the "buy a sebenza" noise that MADE me keep looking at Sebenzas....

Well, here i am with a 21 and an Umnum. Oh and i also have a raindrop/micarta/double lugs on order:D

The same seemingly silly advice made me think "these guys are nuts." After holding out for over 3 years I bought my 1st lg Sebenza. I've bought 4 of them now!! I did sell two of them because I felt a little over knifed in the Sebenza department.

I have a user and a backup - not a safe queen but a backup! :D

I should be more like you. I have seven and I use them all. I still look at others but I pretty much have the bases covered with large/small, regulars, insingos, classic/21's. I know the classics and 21's are different but are so similar to me I classify them as the same.

All of mine are plain except for one with graphics. I guess some Micarta Inlays are in my future. Maybe an Annual or two :D

That's my only Sebenza I really want - I hope to see a large 21 with micarta inlays in my hand some day - "soon".

I guess I'd bring my backup out of mothballs, sell my plain jane user and have new user plain handle (love the feeling of the cool ti slabs) and a micarta keeping it to 2, but with one a little fancier. :)

I'm new to CRK's I have the small Sebenza 21 and love it. I use it every day at work, but I really need to lube the thing. It's taking forever for the grease to show up in the mail. I have no professional knife or gun shops here in Bakersfield. Anyone use a different lube? And the next knife on the list is the large sebenza......
