How do we do that without spoiling the surprise?
I don't think that it spoils the surprise. We all knew that we would each make and receive a knife. I emailed my victim...er...recipient and explained the situation. I didn't describe the knife or send pics, but at least my victim knows the status and that he WILL get his knife. In this way there won't be any feeling that there is nothing on the way. If the surprise is delayed a bit, it may suck, but at least it's on the way. That's just MHO.
Since I have a picture thread the knife isn't a surprise, so I figured that if they knew my name there would be no surprise. I will try not to make it late, but it is going to be close. I may have to use next day shipping.
I have been working seven day weeks all this month.I got the knife started early, and assembled by December, but haven't got the final finishing done yet. The knife I'm making won't get its final sanding and polishing until I get a couple days off starting the 25th. It should be ready to ship by New Years. I believe it will be worth the wait.
I am emailing the recipient and letting them know that there will be a late present coming.

I have followed your thread and I would be proud to have your knife. I am sure that the recipient will feel the same. For sure!!:thumbup:
Paul I apologise but I got your knife back in the mail today as undeliverable.I checked and double checked the addy, and it is the same as was sent to me. I also sent you a personal email to let you know this as well. I need a better address please.
