When I was a kid my mom's cousin was living on our couch for a couple months and had inherited a garage full of things.
In all that stuff there was this small belt knife which I fell in love with, but I was never the type to ask for things.
When he moved out though my mom handed it to me and said " merry Christmas ' , presumably because it had been obvious how much I liked it.
If I remember correctly it was right around Christmas time when he moved out , because he was charged no rent so he could afford Christmas presents for his daughter.

Then there's the year before last when my dad bought 3 Victorinox tinkers, one for him, his closest brother, and me.
He's carried his every day since, I carry mine often enough, but my uncle prefers watch pocket sized slipjoints and probably hasn't even opened his.
It likely went to his youngest son if he did.
