Live in Queens, work in "the city" right between RockCenter and The Square.
I've lived here all my 52 years and have never driven in Manhattan.
There is no reason to. It is more trouble than it is worth.

Tourist dodging should be an olympic sport.
I'd be a contender for the gold if it were :D

No place like the big apple for Christmas

All I can say to the naysayers and haters is that you are missing out on a bunch.
The country it aint, but there are benefits to both.
Much like winter and summer it takes one to appreciate the other :D

Of all the places I've ever been, Sin City isn't one of 'em, some day though, best City in the world, Amsterdam :cool::D:thumbup:

I was in the Netherlands for a very short time once, and although I didn't partake in any of the vices, I did enjoy the overall feel/vibe of the country, especially the towns whose alleyways are little rivers and everyone has a boat parked back there.

NYC....it is one of my first memories....I have spent a LOT of time there.

I love the City itself, but it is not what it once was, imo, and I leave it to itself, and citizens....I will visit, I will enjoy...but it will never be MY city again..it has lost the patina of seediness, and everthing is now bright and shiny...the politicians and partisans have pulled out the teeth, and fashionable urbanites cannot appreciate what was lost....large chunks of Little Italy, the remaking of Times Square and the upscaling of Harlem, a freak, something that was never supposed to be, and isn't really....a shame.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson
I have lived near/in some fair sized cities and have visited NYC. I have also live in some of the most beautuful rural settings to be found in CO and MT. I'll take the rural anytime.
That said- STeven, you need to head this way again. Out of all the cities I have been in, I like Tacoma the best. Very blue collar/rough/interesting w/ just a little shine in certain spots if you want to take the lady out.
