The Classic comes through, again.

Well, I tried to pick a file cabinet lock with my Classic. Tried every tool on it, but failed. Probably with the right knowledge, I could have pulled it off, but Classic was up to the task, even if I wasn't.

Try using the toothpick to insert first, to hold the spring loaded gizmo out of the way, and then while holding with the toothpick, insert tweezer leg into and jiggle back and forth while slightly and very gently twisting. For file cabinets, I've also had good luck using the tapering awl of a pioneer to insert in lock, gently jiggle and twist and trigger the tumblers . It takes a bit of practice to develop the 'feel' for it.

The Classic SD, Rambler, Rally or any of the other 58mm SAK's, are true workhorses. There is a reason why the Classic is by far their best selling pocket knife, because it works. And in all honesty, who needs more in suburbia in the 21st century? This small knife can pretty much do it all. From opening boxes to sharpening pencils. Yes, it lacks in the food prep department, but that's where dedicated kitchen knives come in. And for the really heavy duty stuff, the Stanley knife was invented .
