The Colony? TV

I've been interested in this since first hearing about it, but I've always been interested in survival and what makes people tick. Post apocalyptic survival. :thumbup:

Of course this is going to be staged, but there is no way they could have a real scenario like this aired on TV without lawsuits on their hands. Eh, it'll still be an entertaining show.
 
It can't be a realistic simulation when none of the participants have any fear of illness, starvation, or violence. There is nothing in the program that is realistic at all. You'd be better off watching Lost. Looks like Hollywood reality TV BS to me, but I'm sure some people will get their jollies from it and the junky press will rave on about how 'real' it is.

I was thinking along those lines... the people in the show know when the show will end, if they are injured, they can leave, etc. etc. But the concept is an interesting one. I will be interested to see if they can come up with any creative solutions to the issues they face.
 
Got it set to record the season but if it turns out to be something like "The real world" it will be erased pronto. I have a bad feeling thats its going to be staged drama like the "survivor (insert name here) ". We will find out soon.

I believe that it is all staged that way, if I remember what I heard about it correctly, they will be thrown a different challenge each week over the course of the season.... or maybe I am thinking of Pokemon Gold, I can never keep these survival shows straight....

Amen! I would rather spend time in my garden than watching any damn TV show. TV makes you dumb. Working a good garden is good for you both mentally and physically, in more ways that I can even begin to write about. TV is probably the worst damn disease to hit our culture. It's amazing to me how many people can tell you all about some silly-ass TV show, name the characters, name the people who played those characters and tell you what happened on every episode, then they wonder why they can't get anything done or get ahead with projects or be more self-sufficient. For the most part, TV makes your mind lazy.
 
I think some TV shows can be quite entertaining, I like very few of them. Basically, I am more in line with Jeff than the average American when it comes to TV. I think if I had a piece of property, obviously, I would know even less than I know about TV at the moment.

I don't think all TV makes you lazy or stupid but I sit back and shake my head at the popularity of Oprah or Jerry Springer. Now, that's some mind-numbing, stupid shit. This country is so brainwashed they picked a president that Oprah pushed, FFS. :rolleyes:
 
the woodrights shop... honestly its about the only reason i own a tv... the computer is about 10x as vicious as tv for time wasting. but atleast you can learn and interact its not all passive.

i watch some tv shows im just very picky and dont have cable tv. infact i might sell my xbox i never play it. maybe by another rat instead of the damn video games.

but yea its rigged im not going to watch its just silly. when i do watch tv its normaly some kinda documentry or educational show.... movies now and then to keep the creative energy going.
