Yes. The ESM-1. I have an 8 as well and the Super Commander fits better than the regular Commander

If I'm not mistaken wasn't the super commander the original size Emerson was trying to get issued to the military?

I believe it was called the ESM-1 but, yes, it was the same size as the current Super Commander knife. It was designed for the SEAL teams -- Team Six if I remember correctly.

Just got my standard commander in the mail. This thing is super nice, its a beast! It will be my on duty knife and I will keep the mini commander for off duty. Love this thing!

Received my Mini-Comm this weekend and it is bad ass, I do see how the regular would be optimal. Great feel though, and looks absolutely sick all blacked out.

My first emerson was the mini commander. At the time it was the BEST feeling knife in hand. Tried to regular but felt too big for me. Seeing this thread made me want one again... I think I'll wait for that Irish Commander to pop up
