The Composition of Infi and What it Means

I believe this post right here says it all, this is a bone he has to pick, screw doing his own research.

What bone does he really have to pick? He stated what seems to be facts. Not an opinion. But he’s getting flamed for that. We all know A8, or infi is really tough stuff. He’s saying it’s the same steel. He’s not calling out busse, and challenging him to anything.

Apparently Jerry said something about him and he didn't confront Jerry about it, I don't know the extent of what was said. I do know if I heard my name I'd inquire as to what it was being used for.

He's done none of his own testing and making claims based on an analysis from someone else before my 8 year old son was born. Scientific method?

What did Larrin do? He looked at a test result and said essentially It's A8(mod) by those numbers posted from that test. Somehow that has been conflated into an attack on Busse and now the "science" is being questioned. What the heck happened?

By the way can the D3V stuff be split off into another thread? I'm already having difficulty following this as it is. :)

Come on Larrin, you know you can’t win! A metallurgist knows way less than a basic knife user! You should know that. Lol.
A metallurgist would analyze the metal him or herself. Not just read some 10 year old article and have an obvious beef on the subject and maker.

This is bad science. You can't cry that you want good science and then do horribly flawed science.

It's a bad look.

The term historical needs to be included in the title, as the entire topic has no relevance to today.

If you cry science, and those of us who care about such things go to bat, you better come right.

Mistakes were made. Rather than own up, he's deflecting, defending, and getting indignant. Not a good look.

A good metallurgist uses research both from himself and others. 10 year old data is no worse than new data. I have no beef with Jerry Busse.
What have you done yourself?

And the title being misleading is exactly what I said in the beginning because his claim may not even apply to current knives.

He even says HE DOESN'T KNOW if current infi is the same composition as it was 10 years ago.

That's not what I saw. You called something hype without even looking at it.

Now you're doing this, the opposite of how you present yourself, and promote your blog here.

A real metallurgist would test the this stuff. Why aren't you? You care enough. To keep writing on the subject. Why not give it a try and let us know. I think that would be fascinating. I mean, I know how the one infi knive I have had performed, but I don'tkniw what's in it. Buy one and test it please.
