The congress

Thanks, Jim. Everyone who has seen it in person has said the same thing. I got it from Ryan Daniels at BLADE this past summer.

BTW, the pile side looks identical, a perfect match.

That is one I would try to get new blades on if I ever wore them out. It is an incredible match and look.

I like the pattern, especially if there are 4 different blades on the 4 blade congress. The half congress is extremely pocket friendly...here's a couple I carry a lot-4 Blade Ken Erickson congress is 4 1/8" and the Reese Bose Half congress is 3 5/8":

I too prefer the half congress. Something about that awkward fistfull-of-metal feeling that really turns me off to the pattern. I really like the aesthetics of the squared bolsters and the curvature of the backspring. That's why I sent my 4" Queen congress in for modification. I had forum member pocketedge (Grant Schlegel) remove half of the blades and one of the backsprings for me. The result is nothing short of fantastic.

I snapped up a GEC pocket-friendly half congress with the rounded bolsters and wharncliffe & coping blades. I like it quite a bit. Very slim with good ergonomics. The main blade is a wicked cutter. I still have my eye on one of the regular GEC half congress models, but my modifiied 4" Queen is hard to beat right now.

Beautiful knives shown here.
I EDCed a Case medium Congress for quite sometime, it had Case's CV blades in it so it took a great patina. I used that knife for just about everything, but it really shined while trout fishing, I juts loved having it along. Honestly though I became tired of it, which I didn't think would ever happen. I think the four liners, four blades got to be too much width for such a small knife.

Then I got a GEC half Congress, it's super slim and very pocketable. It has two very useful blades and it's a joy to have with me. I have carried it off and on for the last few months, it has succeeded in everything asked of it as well. It's a good Sunday church knife for me.

A pair of Pearl Congress knives in a Shadow Pattern

Fight' n Rooster ( Captain's Rooster..Frank Buster & Son ) The gold etch is there except it's 25 degrees and the blade kept fogging over.
